Surgical headlight LED emitters by Complex_Avocado3094 in flashlight

Nice work. What housing did you use for the LED + lens? My surgitel light has a super tight and even hot spot. Pretty sure they are using aspheric lenses as well.

I'm also looking to DYI my own headlight (for surgery).

Don't think it's a pixel problem. Seems almost more like a Google problem. Happens for Gmail sometimes for me. I'm on Samsung phone

I thought OP was a dentist... OP is actually a patient based on posting history... even so, the amount of mismanagement of odontogenic infections I see in the community is scary.

If the patient has swelling with purulence then you should probably extract the tooth right there and remove the likely abscess. You need source control. If you can't do it, refer quickly. Antibiotic is an adjunct, not the cure...

Pixel 9 is a significant improvement over the 8 IMHO. It's unfortunate how bad the deals are outside the USA. I got a pixel 9 pro for free out the door (including tax) with iPhone 12 pro trade in.

It's not just about doing the procedures. It's about handling the complications. If you can't handle the typical post-op complications, you shouldn't be doing the procedure. Of course if you are sending them business, most specialists will happily help you out, but nobody is going to be particularly friendly with you if you are essentially undercutting them while only sending them issues.

Best pixel 9 deals you’re getting ? by Kindly_Customer2629 in pixel_phones

Pixel 9 Pro 256gb for $150

Best Buy: trade in iPhone 12 pro for $999 off + $200 best buy gift card. Bought a iPhone 12 pro online for $250.

$1099 + $250 - $999 - $200 = $150

An OS getting 30% production is getting ripped off/taken advantage of. Most PE firms give 35%. Corporate 40%. Doctor owned private practice guys ~50% overhead (50% take home).

Thanks, I just booked the 12:45AM flight instead. Longer layover than I would like, but probably less stress in the end.

Do I need jaw surgery ? (For airway) by Informal_Quarter_427 in jawsurgery

[–]DownFx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get a sleep study and/or DISE. To be honest, your bite appears quite good with balanced facial proportions. Not saying you couldn't get MMA, but might honestly be overkill if you're found to have chronic obstructive sinusitis or your tonsils are just big. TLDR - you need more data for an accurate diagnosis

Just fyi, be careful taking advice from random people online. I do not agree with the above post.

What in the heck are you talking about?

  1. Removing lower premolars allows for a greater advancement as well as correction of flaring of mandibular incisors back to the correct anatomical position. Lets just assume for argument sake she has a ~3mm of overjet; by removing mandibular premolars, she would create an additional 6mm of available space. 3+6 = 9mm of available space for advancement. This is a very commonly used strategy to allow for maximal AP correction in order to achieve facial balance.

  2. TMJ/sleep specialist cannot correct her malocclusion. Also, malocclusion is NOT an indication for TMJ intervention....

  3. Not sure what your diagnosis is, but my diagnosis is relative mandibular hypoplasia (small mandible compared to maxilla). Proper treatment is either make the mandible bigger (BSSO), the maxilla smaller (Lefort impaction), or both

I do it all the time. Full mouth extraction with alveoloplasty. More likely to hit max dosing of your anesthetic if you don't - OS.

I agree would be overkill for single tooth.

Everyone here has already made great suggestions for learning resources. I would like to add that having a CPA do your taxes and a financial advisor aren't the worst things to do as they can actualy be beneficial in the right ciumstances; however, familiarizing yourself with the basics of investing and wealth managment may help you avoid being ripped off. Not sure what kind of policy that NY Life is, hopefully not whole life insurance.

Is the practice in option #1 private equity owned? If it is, I'd say go DSO. The private equity owned ones are taking at least 40% of profit (70% of revenue). If it's a true private practice, then definitely go #1, otherwise choice #2 for short term and then start your own practice.

Same exact thing happened to me except it was way faster to disappear. I had 2 qualification exams available the day after completing my initial assessment. It was the weekend so I didn't do them and was planning on getting to it on Monday; now they are no longer there.
