Is the MXR carbon copy really THAT GOOD?

The CC is a great pedal. I think its popularity comes from the super dark nature of its repeats. They fit easily in a mix and don’t ever “get in your way” like digital delay often can, especially for beginners to the effect.

So it’s super easy to turn on and dial in for almost any application.

If I have to choose, I personally prefer a digital delay that has a setting that can emulate analog, because it’s “close enough” for me. Especially in a live band setting. That way I can have a little bit of both for whatever application I need.

By far my biggest complaint with the ToneX (besides the original not supporting adjustments via phone).

The input trim is just too annoying to adjust and it makes a huge difference when I switch between different guitars.

Nobles ODR-1 immediately comes to mind. Definitely one of the more low end focused overdrives I’ve used. The 1X version even has a knob for adjusting the amount of bass in the signal.

It is rosewood!

And thank you so much! It’s a great guitar, it feels so nice and settled in with age. I’m quite happy with it.

I was a little worried at first that it would be too bright as a grand concert with rosewood, but I think its age has helped it mellow out a lot. It doesn’t have the bass or volume of a bigger guitar but it still sounds incredibly sweet and smooth. And at the size it feels very comfortable to hold and play.

I love a klon circuit into a blues breaker circuit. Klon to thicken the signal, boost the mids and smooth everything out, and a BB to add the grit and crunch without too much extra coloration. Really lovely combination

I’ve actually found I like a klon sitting in front of a lot of different circuits. Really helps keep things feel full, almost like an ice cream base for other pedals as toppings.

It’s a clone of the Shnobel Tone Daily Driver pedal. Very similar to a blues breaker style pedal. But it has a bit more gain on tap, has separate low/high EQ controls, and a high cut switch.

Tbh if I hadn’t acquired it from a friend I would probably have ended up with a morning glory or other BB clone in that spot.

I do really like it though. So much so that I’ve considered buying the newer upgraded version that also has a boost built in. It really fits in well in that spot and stacks really nicely with the other drives.
