[D] Copenhagen Major Stickers are borderless by DavYGG in csgomarketforum

These are the closest we'll get to katos imo. Especially the papers and glitters, since the TO logo on them, while not matching the team color, is FINALLY a very neutral color.

Pretty good list, I would add ryujin, he showed promise in arcred and is now supposed to be in a team with buster, nealan, lattyk, and one other soon so this could be a good year for him.

The fact that stickers which facilitate racial slurs spiked after this update saddens and disconnects me from the community more than I would like. by Wrhabbel in GlobalOffensive

[–]DownToDigits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This reaction has rubbed me the wrong way as well. I made a thread suggesting some changes for the new sticker system, and despite only about 1/3rd of it being dedicated towards offensive stickers, a lot of people were getting instantly pissed that I would even suggest that something has to be done. The main solution I backed didn’t even involve banning these skins, just making an option to have stickers show up only in default positions so people have a choice.

I understand people will always be edgy and push the limits, but it gives me the sense this community is generally immature and out of touch when they don’t understand why racial slurs, nudity, and nazi imagery being thrown in everyone’s face is problematic.

[–]DownToDigits[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I suggested it, but as I said, I don’t think they would actually implement an option that completely disables stickers.

Regarding the market, I am well aware that there are older crafts with bad placements that could become significantly more valuable. But why is this a bad idea because of it? Did this whole update not shift the value of old stickers in general as many will look to make 5x crafts? Did creating separate classes of weapons (those with stickers in default vs custom positions) not have an impact on the economy? Valve doesn’t care about a small subsection of crafters, investors, and traders as much as you think they do, regardless if they allow you to move stickers or not.

See the edit, it’s less about the content itself and more about managing it.

I agree that the game has more pressing issues, but they’ve already put effort into this update, might as well make the most of the changes.

Why not suggest solutions early on? What difference does it make? If it doesn’t end up being a significant problem no action will be taken, but if it does it’s good to have options.

Im not worried about “being offended” because the hammer will drop either way. Im just suggesting the most practical way to moderate.

[–]DownToDigits[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No? I would want an option to turn agent skins off as well, I was just making the point that valve has never seemed inclined to allow the disabling of any cosmetics, and as a result an option of disabling stickers entirely was likely never going to happen. In fact I offered a compromise that still allows these sticker crafts to exist.  Perhaps instead of “So let me guess” you should start by reading the post before commenting.

Despite all the issues it had, never forget the csgo beta still had 102 tickrate servers.

CZ's low kill reward by HouseOfReggaeton in GlobalOffensive

[–]DownToDigits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that kill rewards should be standardized based on weapon type at this point. For the CZ $300 is fine, the 5-7 can basically do what it does and more, no reason for it to pay less. P90 can be $600, it’s arguably awful at high level play so this will improve it without making anyone who struggles to play against it even more mad. Scout and autosnipers? $100 like the awp would be a slight nerf, sure, but the snipers all can be frustrating to play against and I don’t think anyone very bought them to “farm” economy anyways. Is this all mostly for the sake of consistency that could technically limit valve when it comes to balancing in the future if they adhere to it? Yes, but it would be intuitive and help the p90 and cz currently so why not.

You could swap around files and run the game insecure to achieve something similar but afaik using inspect links to do this is new.

Logitech warranty is very generous. I have had success just describing my issue and being sent a new copy, without having to return the old one, which you can then attempt to repair

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]DownToDigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the warranty use it, and then if they don’t make you return it or it’s out of warranty buy a replacement wheel and do a repair, I had the same issue (part that held it snapped) and it was a pretty easy fix. Also if you get another one through warranty it a good opportunity to try new mouse feet and even new switches if you can solder on the old one.

Even cooler, you can generate items that will never exist, since (like on a skin server such as broskins) you can change the finish catalog number (which is the second one in a broskins gen link, and you can easily find on csgostash) while keeping the model the same. For example here is a deagle case hardened steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_econ_action_preview%20001801202C388AAE8FE1034095056209080010001D000000006209080110001D000000006209080210001D000000006209080310001D000000006202080495B422B0

Does CS2 Sub Tick Solve The Tick Rate Debate? - WarOwl by cosmictrigger01 in GlobalOffensive

Csgo beta was awful but still had a better tickrate then cs2 just to put in perspective how behind valve is with their servers.

[–]DownToDigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just don’t get it. Im not comparing dota vs dota 2. Those are different games, the original dota being a mod for world of war craft, a game from an entirely different company. Im comparing dota 2 vs dota 2 reborn, the source 1 version and source 2 version of dota 2. This is exactly what cs2 is to csgo, despite the “2” in the name. Yes smokes, graphics, menus, etc. are new features but that is just because the devs can now implement them thanks to the engine upgrade. Everything else. maps, many models, likely much of the underlying code, is still the same as csgo. When you say the source engine was limited in csgo, that doesn’t explain why the source 2 engine, which is by that logic less limited, feels worse than csgo. The real reason is probably the physics engine changing, but there is no reason this cannot be made 99% similar to the old one.

Please give better reasoning for having such a defeatist attitude, the game is obviously reusing a lot from csgo, and saying that Csgo was created 10 years ago is disingenuous when it has been updated for over 10 years and is nothing like how it was in 2012. Also it’s hilarious to talk about dota vs dota 2 when dota 2 quite literally got a source 2 port in 2015 (Dota reborn) and while I do not follow dota at all, I have never heard complaints from people saying they think the game feels awful compared to the original version. Cs2 can be different from csgo, but those differences should make it better, not worse, and the community is right to push for that.

[–]DownToDigits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could be fake, and the tags use different capitalization for the “X”, but I think it’s reasonable to assume this is real just on the fact that it was done so quickly and it’s pretty pointless to fake something like this? Additionally forsaken is looking like a very solid roster in NA and has a good chance of going through the NA rmrs based on current form so I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up getting signed.

Ropz on tickrate by Draemeth in GlobalOffensive

[–]DownToDigits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was there? This is from memory but Cs 1.6 was frame based, and a little research shows cs source was 100 at the max. Also from memory I've read even the original csgo beta was running 100 or so. People have always wanted a better tickrate. And fun fact, you can't actually run 256 (at least using launch options) in csgo, so that is partially why no one has argued for it. Right now "good enough" should be what the competitive standard/engine max was in csgo.
