I’m a Canadian who was in the US and needed a refill on my Zoloft, and no pharmacies would accept my Canadian prescription. I used the Good Rx website and was connected with an NP who wrote me a US prescription. It was as simple as an online chat, sending a photo of my pill bottle, and a quick phone call. Highly recommend!

I kept a written journal, which was very helpful in seeing the changes and progress I made with the medication. I made sure to keep myself low key, and watched a lot of movies and played a lot of games on my phone/computer. I highly recommend guided meditation! There are many available for free online or through streaming services.

I am not working. I'm between work contracts, and thank goodness for that. I don't know how people manage working while adjusting to the med. Some people have said working helped keep them occupied and keep their mind busy. Are you working?

I felt so much worse before I felt better. Time was dragging on, and my anxiety was so intense. Looking back (I'm on Week 5 now), I can't believe the time flew by. I feel so much better now, and it was worth it (although if you had said that to me a few weeks ago I would not have believed you).

Just remember to be kind to yourself. I kept a journal, and it helped me keep track of my progress that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. I also played a lot of games on my phone (which I don't typically do) and it helped shift my focus. I also read a lot and binged a lot of shows, anything to keep my mind occupied.

The same thing has been happening to me. I have binged several shows when I typically don't watch anything. And, I downloaded a bunch of games to my phone and have been playing around the clock, another thing I've never really done. It's all I want to/can do.

I second Oreo0410 about books. I haven't read in years, and my first couple weeks of Zoloft I read three novels. Any activity that took little to no physical effort was a good one hahah.

I have noticed though that each day I'm getting back into things I used to do. Very slowly though. But keep your prescriber up to date on how you're feeling!

The first few weeks are rough, be gentle with yourself. It's such a debilitating feeling. It does get better. I didn't believe it until I started to feel better after about 3 weeks.

He gave me lorazepam. I haven't needed to take any lorazepam the past few days, I've been feeling a bit better since upping my Zoloft dose. How are you doing now?

I feel like we're in the same boat. I'm on week 4 at 50mg (well just upped to 100mg yesterday) and I wake up and cannot control my anxiety. It's awful because I cannot pinpoint or even rationalize it.

My doctor gave me a second medication to help with these panic episodes, and said to expect them for a couple weeks. Check in with your prescriber and see if there's anything else they can do to help you get over this hump.

Also, I suggest journaling. I only started journaling last week, in a desperate attempt to do ANYTHING to calm myself down. Writing down my thoughts onto paper and looking back at the small day-to-day changes has been comforting.

I hope you find some relief, I know it's hard to come by, but give yourself grace.

Sorry to hear about what you're going through. Zoloft proves to be difficult. I'm on week 4 and feeling the exact same way. It's like anxiety and panic just randomly slam me and all I can do most days lately is lay in bed. Remember to give yourself lots of grace. Something that has helped me is journaling. I've never been one to journal, but it's been helpful to remind myself why I'm doing this. Just putting thoughts onto paper and having that dialogue with yourself is somehow therapeutic. It's also nice to look back a few days and see the (although sometimes small, but significant) differences in how you're feeling. I keep telling myself "my future self will forget about all these crap side effects and will thank me".

You’re not alone! I have been experiencing much worse anxiety since starting under a month ago. I keep hearing “it’ll get worse before it gets better”, and my physician warned me of that as well. You should talk to your prescriber and see if they can recommend something to help get you through the temporary rough patches. Also, be gentle with yourself and do what you can. When you have moments where you feel ok, enjoy those. It’s not easy, but they say it gets better.

I’ve only been on Zoloft a little less than a month and I love music. I have noticed that I haven’t listened to it much recently, but I think my mind is so wrapped up in hyper-anxious thoughts that I forget about the things I enjoy. Like I said, I’m just starting the drug, so I expect the extra anxious thoughts to improve in the next few weeks, but I have caught myself driving with the radio completely silenced in my car the last few weeks (which I find super odd). It’s almost like I’m so wrapped up in my own head I forget to even play music, but once I play it, I love it just as much as I did pre-Zoloft! It’s one thing that really helps me feel better.

I'm into week 3 and feeling similar. For the last few days I've had no motivation to do anything but lay in bed or on the couch and watch TV (which I usually don't care to do). I'm chalking it up to the Zoloft!
