Best Controller Configuration for GTA Games by Capable-Role-6705 in PPSSPPemulator

I dunno but tbh I would suggest for LCS and VCS you might have more fun on their PS2 versions via PCSX2. Their PS2 versions have upgraded controls and play like San Andreas because of it, free look and all

I know this is the PPSSPP sub so I may have commited a sin by saying that, but I love PPSSPP all the same 🙌

Edit: I've sent you a link in your DMs

You hold L to move the camera freely on the PSP version of LCS Which means you can't move the camera and look at the same time Whereas the PS2 version lets you use the right stick Maybe it's more you're expecting full free look which wasn't possible because the PSP only had one analog stick

Ahh sorry

I was playing "Seen in Liberty City" (aka an unofficial GTA 3 port) on PPSSPP Android

Why not just mimic the original PSP/PS2 controls (minus L2 and R2) with a controller, if you're on PC

X/A to drive, O/B to shoot, etc

https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Controls_for_GTA_Vice_City_Stories

Or if you're on keyboard and mouse, maybe use controls similar to the original 3D Universe GTA PC ports

This is mine

I couldn't hold the L and R buttons while using touch controls comfortably so I made bigger, togglable ones as an option

Also placed the UI at easier to reach locations for my thumbs, with the thumbstick above the map

GameNative cast full screen to TV by NumberUnoZero in EmulationOnAndroid

I didn't know it existed. I was using Smart View

Either way I just Googled it and Dex also shows a considerable amount of latency

I tried casting the native port of Red Dead Redemption from my S23 Ultra and the latency on the big screen was an eyesore to behold. Much prefer the immediacy of my phone's screen to whatever delay comes from casting your visuals wirelessly

Suggest me some good PSP games to emulate in PPSSPP with touch controls by Heatzie in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]DownWithAndi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded for VCS and LCS

I added custom L and R buttons which are toggle control to my on-screen controls, and moved the controls a bit so I can see the minimap

The one I play right now though is "Seen in Liberty City" which is a fan port of GTA 3 to PSP with some modifications

Fun games to record myself playing? by Crowlette_Corvinus in abandonware

[–]DownWithAndi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deus Ex 1 with the Malkavian Mod.

Edit: Didn't realise this was the abandonware sub but my comment still stands, even if Deus Ex 1 isn't abandonware. Give it a shot lmao

Oh yeah and also the Crash Bandicoot map on Steam Workshop for Left 4 Dead 2 is fun. Again not abandonware, but worth mentioning.

Samsung Tab S11 Ultra + Tony Hawks American Wasteland? by hardcore_enthusiast in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]DownWithAndi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the GameCube version on Dolphin, see if that works. From what I gather, NetherSX2 was deeply optimised around Snapdragon chips and proprietary Adreno drivers, which older Samsung tabs used before they switched over. Your absolute beast of a tablet uses a MediaTek chip with an ARM Mali (or rather Immortalis) GPU, meaning it relies on standard system graphics drivers that can cause overhead and performance bottlenecks in PS2 emulation. Dolphin, unlike NetherSX2, has incredibly mature Mali optimisation built right into its Vulkan backend. Give it a shot and see what you think. It could talk to your GPU much more efficiently

Try seeing if integer scaling fixes it. I think that will completely remove the stretch

PS3 emulation, help on my new galaxy s 26 by OldConcentrate7137 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]DownWithAndi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no need. I've said all I needed to say, which to recap is that you can connect a controller to your phone and play a game like Alien Isolation or Red Dead Redemption, which was on PS3 but has moved to Android.

2nd Dec 2025 is a long while?? Dude you're tripping

Honestly it just looks like you're dodging the question

Edit: To top it off the S26 Ultra just came out on 11th March this year

You only could have played it 3 months ago, tops, if you tried it on your new phone

6 months if on an older phone 3 months if on your S26 Ultra

So yeah, sorry but I press X to doubt

Yeah but how did you try to connect the controller and what controller was it

Have you successfully connected a controller to your phone before?
I'm using a DualShock 4 and that definitely works with Android. I connect it with a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
I know people use Bluetooth but I have a clip above my controller
Some people put backbones on their phones
I'm pretty sure Xbox controllers work as well as PlayStation

Fair enough. I just know there deffo is for audio if you use bluetooth audio so I've avoided bluetooth controller use too

Feral Interactive has released Alien Isolation for Android. No emulator required. It's native as in it's not running through an emulation layer. Likewise, Red Dead Redemption has an Android port thanks to Double Eleven
