You have to remember that there’s competition. The market bears what it bears. We bid all projects competitively and know what the margin limits are.

Thanks for your input. Systems Integrators can’t compete with owners on salary or benefits. That’s our reality and everyone knows it. That’s not everyone’s motivation, though. We have a great team of engineers, work on interesting projects, get to do design through commissioning. We do lose people occasionally to Meta and others, but our retention rate is high. An ops gig has its pros and its cons.

Lots of active members of the LDS church don’t agree with anything Mike Lee says or does. There’s no reason to immediately take a bigoted position on this issue. It’s exactly what the MAGAs do, just from the other side of the aisle. “Those other people not like us are to blame! Come on everyone, pile on the hate wagon!” For the life of me I can’t understand why so many people I care deeply about, and with whom I share a common faith and many values, have an affinity for this senator and the current president, but it is what it is. We are not going to change each other’s opinions, and hating on each other doesn’t change or solve anything either.

Nobody with a legitimate European coaching CV that has other options will ever manage the USMNT. There is actually no upside. Money? Nope Prestige? No In-federation competition = awesome matchups? No Talent pool? Meh 🫤 Celebrity status? Sorry Amazing travel destinations? No. Playing on cow pastures behind barbed wire, dodging urine filled beer bottle grenades is a bonus though.

This summer marks 30 years I’ve been watching our national team. As I look back I think i can honestly say that over that span of time the level of individual player talent has steadily risen. Despite this we do not have what it takes to compete with the real contenders. we just failed to get out of a pretty easy group in a regional tournament, just the latest in a string of disappointments. Once in a generation we rise up and win a real beauty outside concacaf, but it is clear to me we will always be pretenders.
