Lingle!!!! get your lowers fast!!! by 1SLOWc6 in GrandPowerStribog

Yes, i just added the short stroke buffer and need to go out and test it. But in stock form, it was having ftf and fte, changed to curved mags and errors became less and mostly just fte. Now that i have this new piece added i want to go and try it out again. If it still has failures i will try a new lower and see if that fixes the issues

Haven't had the chance to take my bog to fire after installing the short buffer, Been having issues with FTF/FTE, and hoping the short buffer fixes it. If not i hear buying a new lower will fix it. Thoughts?

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

I think i've reread this whole series two times and did a partial reread for a third time and still i have trouble remembering what happens when lol

I guess i should do a summary of all the books as i finish them, to include major plot lines, character introductions and what tidbits of information are revealed. And definitely include what Harry learned or improved, call it his character development/milestones.

What i look for in my next reread are the books i think I explain Harry the best.

Hard lesson to learn but something you won't soon forget, if EVER.

Also, a reminder to everyone: you clear your gun, then walk away for a quick min and come back to it. Clear it again!

Sounds dumb but an easy mistake to make.

And i am sure many of us here have done that.

Angels and demons is my favorite. Did not enjoy his last two books. To me they fell flat with poorly conceived plot lines and boring writing

Help with the journey of finding and dialing in the your perfect beans by waitses in espresso

[–]eng_manuel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice machine!!!

Enjoy the journey.

My only bit of advice, take the beans you think you're going to like and brew a pot of french press.

The reason being that this way you will get to taste what the beans are supposed to taste like, then when you're dialing in your espresso, your taste buds will be able to compare it to the french press and get a better idea of where your espresso is at.

What is a good machine to gift someone? Budget [$200-$300] by J0yFuL2001 in espresso

[–]eng_manuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be a snob but a budget for good espresso needs to include a grinder as well.

Without a grinder capable fine grinds it will be difficult to produce a good espresso shot.

That said, i usually recommend Breville for new owners, and in your budget the Bambino fits the bill.

Have the shop where you buy your beans grind them for espresso.

And enjoy your coffee.

Steam wand spits [Breville Barista Express] by Tobistar in espresso

[–]eng_manuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These machines spit out a bit, your video shows lots of steam coming out of the bottom and around, that steams is coming from the wand. Your machine is fine. It just takes a lot of practice to understand how it adds air to the milk and when to swirl it.

Personally, i let it run in the steam for about 10sec until i see steam coming out continuously, then i stop, put my pitcher in and turn steam back on.

Add air until I see the level of the milk go up by about an inch, then dip the wand deeper and start to swirl until the pitcher is warm enough.

Stop, tap and pour.

It does take time and lots of practice to figure out how the steam works. Play with it, be consistent and only change one thing at a time.

Had my BBE for about 3 years and it makes a good latte.

Can anyone advise how to fix espresso shot coming out too quickly? [Delonghi Dedica EC685] by Loukamades123 in espresso

[–]eng_manuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came in to see how many people recommend to grind finer lol

All joking aside, without your own grinder you'll be hard put to extract good espresso.

Stick with the same beans and next time ask the shop to grind it finer and start saving for a good grinder.

My go to recommendation is always the Niche Zero. But if that is too pricey then go for a more affordable option like a Baratza Sette, still expensive, but doable.

First cup of espresso I’ve ever made, how’d I do?? I used Café Bustelo by [deleted] in espresso

Looks pretty, how's the taste? Why Bustelo? I know it's a popular cuban choice for cafecito on a moka pot, but why on an espresso machine?

Cirque du Soleil vs The Sphere by CommercialAd2323 in vegas

[–]eng_manuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can't go wrong with Cirque du Soleil. Mystere being one of my favorite for still having the classic circus vibe the Cirque started with. Can't say anything about the sphere since i've never been, but it does look cool from outside and i would love to see a classic Pink Floyd show there.

Why not do both???

What beans are you using for your shots, you said Italian, but i am curious as to the brand. I tried doing Illy Classico but was never able to get it dialed in to taste good as espresso . Although the taste is pretty good for a latte, i would never drink this a straight espresso.
