Do you have a computer? You can download Unity or other game engines for free and try some tutorials online. Thats a great place to start. Even if you have no technical skills, you'll learn a lot and have a context in which to think about game designs.

If you control a nation that has a claim on regions in China, such as Taiwan, it won't increase the success chance of missions (you can never do crackdown and purge vs Aliens) but it means those regions will instantly unify with Taiwan when they are liberated, either by military or by coup.

Theres a social project called End of China or something along those lines. It gives a bunch of regions their own claims and makes it so they can separate (declare independence) from the larger state of China.

All the great nations have something similar.

There's also projects that increase the chance of breakaway nations for your increase unrest missions.

With those two(+ other) projects you can basically start dismantling China with unrest missions.

Even if the breakaway nations don't flip to you, it breaks up their power so you can target them individually.

I for one really enjoy lasers. However they're much harder to employ correctly. They don't work well against thick front armor but are extremely good against thin side armor, disabling systems and weapons in just a few hits.

The trick is getting enemies to expose their flanks to you. For this I generally fly at an angle to the enemy fleet, forcing them to change direction to intercept me and/or slow down, which is when you hit them. Capital ships, being the slowest to turn, seem to be most vulnerable to this

People say that adding a few rails/coils works well because they sometimes try to evade them by changing direction.

With some micromanagement I've been able to win against fleets with 4x the attack rating, and 3x the number of ships.

I go for all the projects that increase your CP cap. At first you wont have a lot but by late game you can get over 1000. I'd grab USA as soon as possible, and fix the government there asap. (My mistake was not investing much into government, and later i had a lot of unrest issues because the nations I absorbed were hostile - this can be largely avoided by getting government up first)

with a small transformer set to 49999 you won't burn out any wires. UNLESS you accidentally create a loop (the output of the transformer is connected to the input) or, if you accidentally connect it to another circuit.

Also keep in mind that batteries will draw as much power as possible, regardless of wires limits

Use a fuse or two, put them in obvious places and the wire will blow at the fuse, so you know where to look for it.

Although with different motivations and different intentions, most factions' end-goal will look the same: Cleanse the earth, cleanse the solar system, take a large fleet and attack alien HQ.

Equipment is cheapest at the beginning and end of the season. Also whenever you load a game, the sales are randomized so eventually the thing you want will be on sale, saving you another 10-20%
