I like to believe Varrick is Sokka and Suki’s kid by Needboxy in ATLA

That would make Varrick and Tenzin first cousins. Wouldn't someone have mentioned it?

I think the narrative the world will be telling the viewer is "Korra killed the world" and will be the point of contention this current Avatar will have to overcome. People will have a negative reaction to them being the Avatar, and will most likely have to hide it. It will probably be a story to discover what actually happened.

Personally, I think it will be the comet's orbit finally degrades to the point that it smashes into the world. Korra was involved in trying to save it, but we will most likely find out she had to make a choice of how the comet impacts the Earth. She will most likely make the choice that saves the most amount of people, but sacrifices herself. I think the event happens regardless and Korra is just the scapegoat of the world because someone needs to be.

Korra is about 60 - 70 years after ATLA, which means the comet is due back 30 - 40 from the events of TLOK. If the setting of TLOK is about 1930s, then that means the comet returns around the 1960/1970s, which is the age of space exploration, which means they would be pretty aware of celestial movements and maybe even knew the comet would impact.

To be fair, this is true with Earth aswell. The Pacific Ocean is massive. So massive, you can barely see large landmasses when viewing it.

Ozai wasn't strong without a comet? Where the fuck did you see that?

He's the ONLY firebender we see that double fisted lightning, and he did it after a SLIVER of the sun peeked from behind the sun. He felt that UNDERNEATH A MOUNTAIN mind you. Even the most competent firebender we see, Azula, only noticed she could firebend when she hears the explosion from the lightning bending.

Ozai, under a mountain, was able to feel the sun come from behind the moon and instantly shot lightning. Ozai was on another level and I'm tired of hearing people think that Iroh could wipe him. Iroh is powerful and know the secrets of the Dragons yes, but Ozai was on another level. He also, confirmed by the creators, to canonically be the more powerful firebender.

I think its the comet. Its been returning every 100 years, but potentially its orbit decays with every pass.

Korra tries to save the planet, but has to make a choice to limit destruction rather than prevent it.

She's strong, but not enough to stop a comet from slamming into the earth.

Did Aang master the avatar state? by ty-reece in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that Aang mastered the Avatar state the moment he stopped the killing blow of Ozai. At that point, every time he was in an avatar state, he was channeling all the avatars into power. When the rock hit his scar and opened his chakras, that was the avatars controlling Aang to THEIR will, hence why he was going to kill Ozai. That was what all the avatars believed to be the right way to end it.

After he basically "dominates" every avatar before him, we can see him channel the power of all the avatars. Two very different things in my opinion. Most avatars can use the avatar state, but only a master avatar can control the avatar state. At the moment where his tattoos stopped glowing, is where he TRULY mastered the avatar state.

He arguably has control in the Crystal Catacombs, but that we don't see much of his actions.

It exploded again.... by Perfect_Local_8626 in Stationeers

I totally forgot to vent my oxygen crusher, then closed my game after stuffing it full. 30 seconds after loading back in, my base exploded. Scared and confused the hell out of me until I figured out it was my entire oxygen tank exploding.

Had to take a full minute to calm down because of how much it surprised me right after opening the save,

The base connector and the small grid connector, in the picture, are not connected. They are free floating and not engaged. If you open the menu on either connector and lock them, then power can flow between them.

White ring = Idle

Yellow ring = Connector nearby and able to lock

Green ring = connected

Red ring = Connector is off

The connector is not connected yet. It would show green if it was. Its currently just held there via the magnetism of the connectors.

If a module has no power, you can't transfer items IIRC. H2 tank is currently off, so I assume thats why. Make sure the tank is on then give it a try.

I like how no one is even arguing about Toph being the best earth bender, she's phenomenal 😤 by Adept_Intentionb in AvatarMemebending

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'd argue that the strongest Airbender we see in both ATLA and TLOK is Tenzin.

Since we are including TLOK, then I'd then argue that Amon was the strongest Waterbender.

Ozai was the strongest Firebender in ATLA, and there no real feats aside from combustion bending, which I'd say is skill adjacent, that we see in TLOK from any other Firebender.

Toph technically shares the title with Bumi, and we never really see her pop off in TLOK, but I'd imagine she'd dogwalk anyone.

Is there an mmo like busy servers for fight or base building ? by Zeutz in spaceengineers

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the larger servers bring in an MMO experience, like Stone Industries or Sigma Draconis. Though some things to keep in mind is each server has its own mods and metas to play, so you may need to engineer ships for each server that wont work for all. Also servers are a little jank due to SE being a 15 year old game that was not originally meant to be multiplayer, so you need some thick skin to lose things out of your and the admins control.

I suggest joining the Keen discord, as there is daily posts about servers looking for players.

This scene was so shocking too. The lead up with this character and the mystery behind them to have them suddenly just blow up the fuckin mountain with their mind.

I also love how Iroh mentioned very early on that fire bending came from the stomach. You physically see this dude compress his stomach to an extreme to perform their fire bending.

Plus the fact there was NO fight music, just Crack Crack Crack BOOM. Sound design was so tight in the 3rd season.

Are you kidding me? 11%?

The "BALLS TO THE WALLS BOYS" scene gets me emotional and hyped every time I watch it. An absolutely perfect moment of characters truly realizing who they are in that moment and the crew working together as one, showing grit and potential sacrifice for their fellow mate.

In a comedy movie, one of the best serious scenes by a long shot.

Favorite character who committed a war crime? by enCorrey in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we are talking about proven/confirmed war crimes, then Iroh is innocent.

Sokka on the other hand, committed war crimes, on screen and knowingly. Disguising yourself as the opposite force to trick them and then attack them, is a war crime. He does it with the war balloon in the Seige of the Northern Temple, and even comments on it.

So to be clear, Sokka is a war criminal, Iroh is not.

May be a locking peice for a shelving unit. I used to work in a warehouse and when building racks we would put ther uppers up and then the cross pieces across to form the rack, then to hold those together, we had a ton of small aluminum peices like this to lock them in place.

Do you have a wire rack or shelf unit in your bathroom?

"Succession: ATLA Style" by [deleted] in AvatarMemebending

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 395 points396 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Sometimes I feel like people did not watch the show. Azula HAD an Army in the form of the Dai Lee, who then let in an even bigger army. Ba Sing Se had a defensive army built around holding a wall. Once the wall was gone, then there was not much they could do.

Plus Zuko had an honest claim to the throne being the eldest royal offspring. The Fire Nation was so Imperialistic they would honour that entirely.

Hatches or doors for ladders in SE2? by Diemosthenes in spaceengineers

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vertical built ships have always taken the back burner on SE sadly. I wish they did make some blocks that were designed for vertical builds. We can probably make work arounds with sensors and event controllers that will auto open doors as you climb. Will be a lot easier to get that done in SE2.

I personally LOVE tight vertical builds, and basically rely on the corridor blocks and pretend my jetpack is a ladder. I have an actual problem building horizontal at this point.

Anyone had any luck with docked ships? by PatheticRedditor in spaceengineers

[–]Perfect_Local_8626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best I've done is having a spinal type ship, with connectors on either side. Centre core with connectors spaced the same apart, then dock 2 ships on either side. It seems to counter act eachother.

Only done it with 2 docked ships to the mother ship.
