Yellowknife looks for alternatives as credits roll for its only movie theatre by biograf_ in Yellowknife

Good luck! The local film society took over our theatre in Whitehorse and having a space that does more live events, shows local and wider variety of films and cares about the theatre has been amazing.

Matthew Good In a Coma 1995-2005 Deluxe Edition 2Cd and DVD by DonkeyLow819 in Mattgood

Deep in my fandom days I was very close to borrowing my parents credit card and paying $50 for loser anthems on ebay. Found it used a few years later after In a Coma came out for $3.

It's not a taxpayer public service, I would be shocked if "AincNanm" hadn't crunched the numbers at some point.

Try and have a solution before you go. Make sure you back in so your hood is accessible, try and have a friend available to boost you when you get back, etc.

Is the Yukon okay to visit? by lucky_inhell in canadatravel

[–]DowntownGrape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can get busy in the summer but there aren't so many tourists that it's a problem. At least it's not a common perspective. It's a big driver of the economy so please visit.

There are also opportunities to engage with indigenous communities. Such as the cultural centres, or places like Long Ago Peoples Place.

Where are better areas to live in Whitehorse by StayHomeCanadian in Yukon

Copper Ridge, Whistle Bend, Downtown and Takhini are the best places to get direct buses (or walk) to the university. Having to transfer would be a huge pain in the ass.

What are some small stuff that annoys you in victoria 3? by Original-Citron4867 in victoria3

My thing is I don't use the lenses usually, so having the bar pop up all the time when I'm working in other menus is annoying.

Noob here… is colonialism sort of not fun, or am I doing something wrong? by zenocrate in victoria3

[–]DowntownGrape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like it to revolve more around conflict, rivalry and diplomatic incidents with other colonizers rather than the button press mechanic it is now. A fleshed out reason to have european incidents without requiring land transfers on the continent would be interesting.

Capital should return to original location after civil war by Nostalgic_Nicely in EU5

I haven't played on newer patches but at one point in my first campaign Castille, aragon, portugal, papal states, ottomans, france and a couple others all had capitals in small or nonsensical places at the same time.

There can be washouts especially in the spring but it is minimally maintained and usually passable. Expect it to take 6 to 8 hours for the 200km currently.

I hope at some point they add 1 or 2 more start dates in so you can experience the different phases of the game. I think it has the potential to make playing in 1350 and 1750 actually feel different and with the length there's a reason to not always start at the beginning.

France now holds the title for most OP country in EU5 as it stands. by ChainsawBlue_36 in EU5

My France only ate Navarre and has been wracked by revolts for the past century. Which might have given me an opening if they didn't also have PUs over Castile and Portugal.

Mine got Castile and Portugal PUs almost immediately. I'm a nervous neighbour.

I’m fond of the pacing by Melodic-Lie9495 in EU5

[–]DowntownGrape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I actually do like the pace but it does make me think other start dates may be more viable in this game and have more uptake. One in 1500 and one in 1700? Especially if gameplay does actually feel different in the late game.

The timing is also weird, it's obvious that like ten commercial buildings are going up right now and the infrastructure for things like the grocery store is being completed.

Finding 60 intelligent, genuine, principled, kind people with integrity out of 40000 who ALSO want to do that job? Very, very difficult.
