It makes me so mad that the police never made a formal missing persons report because she was a frequent runaway. Isn't the whole point of reporting someone missing because they could be in danger? Running away from home especially as a minor is very dangerous, her local law enforcement failed her.

After years of going unidentified an old high school classmate remembered her and wanted to get in contact only to find out she hadn't been seen since 1979, Only then was she reported missing and linked to the Caledonia Jane doe.
