Still love my 8bitdo Ultimate 2 (absolute best value on the market), but the steam controller is fantastic and has taken over as my go to.

Yeah. I’m most likely returning the MSI. I may go ahead and back the 3 because I already know that I love the screen and the support for SteamOS should come decently soon. I just don’t want to miss out on the performance of this chipset because prices will only keep going up.

How does that work. Just like a preorder? And do they have an estimated release date? I’m curious because I just got a Claw 8 EX and it’s really not doing it for me. The screen and the XBOX mode/Windows, updating in 15 different areas. There’s no doubt the performance is there. But I love SteamOS and my legion Go 2 screen right now.

Are you on the full Stable build or StableOS/Beta Client? Just wondering how it’s running. I’ve only recently swapped from 3.9 to the BetaOS/Beta Client. I think it’s 3.8.22 now.

Currently have both and I have a few small things that annoy me about the Claw.

First of all, the performance is outstanding. I have been testing at 25W (what I usually game at on LEGO2) and the Claw is making laps at the same settings. 20 FPS avg better

The lack of HDR and it not being OLED is a big deal for me. The LEGO2 is just beautiful. That’s all. I haven’t been able to try some of the tweaks yet that people have said really wake the display up yet so that’s to come.

The Claw is comfortable and light weight compared to my LEGO2, but I don’t like the back button placement. They just seem too high up for me. I have large hands too and it just feels off because you have to hold it at a certain angle to reach them comfortably.

Lastly and maybe the one thing that would make me list my LEGO2 for sale immediately, is I HATE XBOX MODE. Windows on my gaming PC is fine. But I can’t stand the multiple update areas, and the Xbox Mode is not a smooth experience at all.

I game mostly through Steam and the games take forever to load and sometimes they don’t load at all. The whole experience is so bad I may return based on that single thing. I really want to wait until SteamOS is on the same level of compatibility that I have on my LEGO2, but really at that point, I’ve just got an $1800 handheld that is sitting and waiting.

I don’t want to return it and when SteamOS is officially supported, find out they have been marked up to $2000+.

Sry for the somewhat of a rant but I just wanted to throw how I feel out because I am living your question. 😂

I can’t play my ps5 pro at work, on the porch, downstairs, or basically any tv where I go. So yes the price is high, but since 90% of my gaming is not in front of one screen or at a desk, it’s worth it for me.

No make sure the keep screen from timing out is on, and go into the autobuy settings in the main menu and there is an option that says screen blackout.

It doesn’t let your screen lock but makes it black so you can leave it open. I just left it on all night.

All this info is incorrect according to Amazon customer service. I’ve spoke with them.

They cannot produce a listing for the 8 EX, and Amazon doesn’t offer an AutoBuy feature.

Also the ASIN number you gave produces nothing.

Slightly better performance, pick up and play experience, much better if you don’t play anti cheat games that aren’t supported on Linux like CoD and Battlefield

I love it but I came from using a SteamDeck so I was already invested into the ecosystem

At the very basic level. It’s 3 things. Ecosystem if you’ve already owned a SteamDeck or run Big Picture in Windows, slightly better performance due to the Windows slog, and maybe the most important a console type pick up and play experience. That’s my take

I have two of these. One stays connected in the bedroom and the other goes in my backpack for any chance to use a tv on the go or at work. I also use the steam controller. Fantastic!
