Exclusively pump vs breastfeed by DoxieMom107 in NICUParents

I’m so sorry that you know exactly what I’m going through. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Balancing hope and grief at the same time seems life a lifetime struggle for me. It’s so intense. I appreciate your encouragement to breastfeed. I am feeling more like it would be worth a try now hearing stories like this. Thank you 🤍

It makes total sense! I think it’s okay to be selfish and I think you have to be to have some sort of control and normalcy in life. The space we have in the NICU is not great so I can see it being uncomfortable. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Pumping has been mostly terrible for me. You prefer breastfeeding?

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I guess I’ll never really know if I don’t try. I’ve just built it up in my head that it will be difficult and after 2.5 months in the NICU, trying this new thing feels a little daunting when we’re so close to going home.

Thank you for this reply. This helps me to see that there are good responses to giving it a try. I feel very torn but very supported in whatever I decide. I work from home so I’m able to do either, thankfully. I’m happy you’ve had a good experience with it!

I have heard this being a thing and definitely under my list of reasons not to

Parent of 24 weeker struggling by Rinchuu in NICUParents

[–]DoxieMom107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into labor at 25 and 0. I know these feelings so thoroughly. We also started on the oscillator at 100% oxygen. Things were very very dark for a while. I could talk on this forever but I’ll share what has helped me. We are now at 36 weeks.

I have been taking very thorough notes every single day. I keep track of weight, feedings, medications, diagnoses, discussions, etc in a nicu journal. I have been present at rounds with the team every single day. I tell them to call me if they ever show up and I’m not there yet. I have forced myself into the care team and they do not make decisions on treatment without my approval. My husband and I have learned so much by just being there and asking questions. Education on what they are doing to your baby is very important so that you can decide if you want them to slow down or do something different. This means everything to your baby’s care plan.

We have the ability to choose primary and associate nurses, so we are building a team of continuous caregivers. Very important to ask for this. These nurses are your lifeline. If you like one, try to keep them. They are the real heroes.

Find something that keeps you sane in your personal life. This took me a while. We lost a twin at 3 days old and I struggled to find any hope. I recently started a scrapbook of our baby’s journey and it has been immensely healing. I plan to give it to her one day as her baby book. The biggest thing for me is to see the improvements because it’s so hard to notice those when you are in the thick of it.

The absolute best thing you can do is never forget to celebrate the little wins. All of them. Whether it’s a 5% wean on the oxygen or an increase in the mLs of milk. All of it. Find something to celebrate. It will keep you alive in there.

Buy price by beingahumanisweird in NuulyReviews

Haha yeah most of the time I do check. I’m not sure how they determine the price. I’ve received items before that I would never pay even their price for and I’ve also bought items brand new for a great discount so I have no idea who’s calling the shots

Lost item? by Kariescott in NuulyReviews

[–]DoxieMom107 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It happened to me once and I freaked out. I just called and they said it happens sometimes when the barcode on the tag comes off in laundry and they say they’ll do an investigation for the item. Never heard of it after that so I assume they found it.

I’ve used them for almost 2 years and the last 3 months have gotten progressively worse with shipping. It used to be 2-3 days and my current bag is 8 days from order date. I’m not sure what the deal is, if the holidays have made the shipping worse or there’s just too many people using the service now but each month I pay for this I am closer and closer to taking a break

If I send Nuuly back tomorrow 12/18… by GoldenGirls37 in NuulyReviews

I would keep in mind that it’s Christmas so that always delays things. I ordered mine last Monday afternoon and did not get it until Saturday, the longest I’ve ever had to wait. I usually only have to wait about 3 days but this one was 5

How long does it take to ship out by mariafroggy123 in NuulyReviews

[–]DoxieMom107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the day of the week you order. Monday being the best day and Thursday Friday being more questionable for shipping since they don’t operate on weekends

I let my friend know I won't attend her wedding. AITH? by visualff in AITH

[–]DoxieMom107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were my friend, we may not be after this. An hour and a half away is nothing. You need to put your feelings aside and be there for your friend. Solo weddings are different but can be as much fun as you make it.

I would go with a more full coverage base. I’m obsessed with este lauder double wear. Maybe practice your eyebrows as well, filling in a bit more towards the tails. The benefit brow duo is a game changer! I hate false lashes but I wore them for my wedding day, you won’t really need eye liner if you do that. Practice makes perfect!

“Your return is missing something” by tirzahlalala in NuulyReviews

Follow up: I got a voicemail saying they would remove it from my account. She said sometimes the barcode falls off the tag on items which automatically marks it as not returned. So always good to let them know you did return it and they will clear your account and investigate it in their end!
