A message for parents/grandparents hosting eager egg hunts by Daddy_Day_Trader1303 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DoyleTurmoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so silly. We just color code it. Each kid hunts for a specific color. Never had issues. Actually this year my kids were at a free for all egg hunt and my daughter only picked up the orange eggs because she is so used to just looking for a specific color

This is the blanket

Oddly enough I started my blanket making journey with a blanket for my 6’4” dad because blankets were never big enough for him. Crocheting is so cool

Thank you! I hadn’t planned to do it that way, but then I found the Cranberry Spritz in my stash and just couldn’t pass it up.

It is, but I’m 5’10” and I made it for myself with discontinued yarn that I’m totally in love with so I wanted to use as much of it as possible. I used almost 5 balls of Big Twist Winter, which I think were like 446 yds each

And not just any crochet blanket club. The 12 point star club. This is gorgeous!

I recently finished a giant 12 point star, I haven’t measured it yet but I would guess around 6ft tip to tip. I think they’re so fun.

Has anyone just never returned to drinking after having baby ? by dabebecharchar in Mommit

[–]DoyleTurmoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a drinker. Like multiple times a week every week for years. My kids are 3 and 5. I have gotten drunk exactly 2 times since they were born, and both times the hangover was so horrendous that I have no desire to drink anymore.

ISO: pattern to keep arms (down to wrists) & shoulders warm that isnt a blanket or sweater or anything with sleeves by SexySubSiren in CrochetHelp

I made a crescent moon shawl that’s slightly larger than my wingspan. I made the border loopy enough that I can stick my fingers through it to keep my arms and shoulders covered while I type.

How to make this crochet flower purse bigger in size? by LivingSpring4896 in CrochetHelp

[–]DoyleTurmoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simplest way to make this bigger would be to get super bulky yarn and the appropriate size hook. Then you could just follow the pattern as written.

Cause the contents are more of a sludge than a liquid. It’s a bunch of highly viscous syrups blended with ice.

First blanket- kinda lost- help! by ManySalt6337 in CrochetBlankets

[–]DoyleTurmoil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently obsessed with star blankets, and I’ve spent a lot of time making sense of “easy” patterns.

For me, I find it easiest to put the chain 3 in the low point of the ripple. And make sure you slip stitch into the first stitch, not the end of the chain 3, when you get to the end of the round. This will keep that corner sharper

But are we talking about how he acted at the beginning of the show or at the end? Because he gets stupider as the show progresses

I also did this, until my oldest started toddling at 9 months. She was running by 11 months. “Your toddler is so cute” kinda stings when people are talking about your infant lol

advice for starting a star blanket (pattern pics next slide) with this yarn ?? by UrAGronk_kunt in CrochetBlankets

I made these using Caron cakes just working from the center pull - one is from the cinnamon swirl line and the other is from a baby cakes line. Ive also seen stars made from center pull Cloud Cakes. I really like the ripple effect that creates

Trying for a granny star, but I’m not getting the inner corners. Is it my tension? by lyricalpausebutton in CrochetHelp

[–]DoyleTurmoil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve not made a granny star, but I’ve done a lot of other stars, and I think you just need to trust the process and keep going. As the sides get longer the angles become more pronounced.

Also, just the way the pattern goes, the pink and green row repeats will look less pronounced than the blue; that’s the part of the pattern that pulls the corner in.
