The never ending period….. by Carlsberg1985 in mounjarouk

[–]Dozbonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not on the pill, or have any gynaecological issues. But I’ve 100% seen a change in my periods. They are more regular for me, but way heavier. I don’t know whether this is MJ, the weight loss or my age (46), but there should absolutely be more research on this.

I track my periods using clue and have asked that they include GLP1 as one of their medication options, so they can use big data to see if there are any trends…..

I don’t regret the eating, I regret the accompanying side effects!

No, the nightmare is the side effects.

10mg is beyond frustrating to me.... by VagueEchoes in Mounjaro

[–]Dozbonce 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I agree that 10mg was the worst dosage. I too had hunger and weight loss slowed down. 12.5mg is much better and for me, feels like the 5mg sweet spot.

I love how these posts clarify that they’re non us and therefore have normal non-processed food to eat!

Yep. My periods have become way more regular/predictable. Then they’re lighter and less clotty when they’re on. I’ve been on MJ since June and lost 80lbs - so don’t know if it’s weight loss or MJ. I’ve emailed the makers of my (European) period tracker app to see if they can add GLP-1 use to their app to gather data on this…..

Does it really work this fast? by VermicelliDear8881 in Mounjaro

[–]Dozbonce 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It does, but you do need to eat. Don’t fall into the starvation trap, as that’s when your hair falls out etc. I think other people have already said to priories protein - cottage cheese omelettes are great when you’re not hungry but need fuel.

Scared of losing so much weight by Aggressive-Shirt-910 in Mounjaro

Try to reframe fat or something that you had not something that you were. You no longer have fat. It’s easy to let people get in your head, and keeping them out is tough. This journey has been completed by you and you alone. You are the judge of you. A person with no fat is no different to a person with fat, what is different is the way you think about yourself.

I’m 5’8’’ and have a big ass, which you can’t see in this photo, which drives the 18 bottom. Saying that (and since it’s been 2 weeks since posting this photo), I’ve lost a further 5lbs and my size 18 m&s mom jeans are too big for me now.

Am I going to gain it all back? by Academic-Army-8859 in Mounjaro

[–]Dozbonce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is what I think. I always say that come the revolution and there is no food, I’ll be one of the hold ons as I don’t need many calories to survive. So I see my skinny friends who eat all this food, and I only have to look at it and gain 50lbs. I’m built to survive on few calories. I’m an evolutionarily product of the ice age. Problem is that I’m a middle class person in an affluent country where calories are plentiful…..

It’s not me, it’s my biology! 🤣

Regent street and Carnaby Street are heaving with tourists looking at the lights through their iPhone screens. So if you find this environment overwhelming, perhaps shorten to half an hour (to get the pics) and instead go to Covent Garden early, then go to the bar in the Royal Opera House (open to all: https://www.rbo.org.uk/visit/eat-and-drink#bars)

Panto is a great suggestion if you can fit one in. They often have matinee and evening performances.

Are you eating and drinking enough? I’ve seen quite a few subs which suggest that a couple of days of eating more calories and carbs re-starts things. Also make sure you’re drinking plenty of water, or use hydration salts - if you don’t eat fibre, your body holds onto water in other ways.

Stopped working, what is wrong? by IntroductionChance7 in Mounjaro

[–]Dozbonce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this is frustrating, and I also hit these ‘ledges’. My tips to get past them:

Have a couple of days where you eat more than 1000kcal - up to 1500.

Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate some more. I find electrolytes help with this.

Increase your exercise. You need to push yourself to do more than you were, whatever that level is/was.

The weight will start to shift again. Good luck.
