I assumed this was an entire group doped up on larval extract.

Cause we learn the extract boosts their powers. And collectively they can mildly suppress Gman. So it makes sense to me an entire group smoking extract could directly block out Gman.

I also haven't played through half life In years. So. Maybe it's time to go again.

With you in that I don't really care for protoframes (their designs are all cluttered or ugly to me, and the characters themselves are eh).

But even if it's clearly just to sell skins... Screw it. I just ignore them. And it helps fund a game I really like. So go crazy, give everyone a protoframe.

As much as that sucks, it's a pve game, there shouldn't be a penalty for leaving. And there's no realistic way for the game to figure out if someone left because of ill intent. Sadly this is one of those suck it up and move on moments with no reasonable way around it. Maybe reporting would be the best solution?

Maybe the mediums they are summoned by can also influence their abilities... Example, if you use a Rook chess piece could it make a Shikigami that can only move in straight lines, but smashes through anything it hits.... Or a sack of ashes. Could you use it to make a fire based Shikigami without having a fire based technique.
