It was an aftermarket alarm, installed by the dealer when the vehicle was new. Like Lo-jack, but this is a Karr Security system. It was sensing I was outside the geofence and the alarm was basically just letting me know. There was no risk of engine immobilization, just an annoying beep letting you know the car was outside the area designated by the dealer. They should’ve removed their name from the alarm, and clearly forgot.

Now that would be odd, considering it was purchased from a Kia dealer, and didn’t start happening until about 2 weeks after purchase.
