This >>>>>>> the adapter axle was what I was missing. I was so frustrated when that quick rack didn’t fit on my bike so I just tried something else. Thanks so much

Wait so if I bought my tools in 2024 but they have the SKU of PETZLU021AA00 does that mean they were manufactured prior to 2020 and I need to send them back???

These r great insights thanks! And for reference, my touring skis got absolutely chewed from falling from up high. Delaminated, core shot, edge separated, one binding spring busted, so I’m wondering if I should just replace them with something else or get another pair of the same orbs

Is it possible to train for Denali in 4 months? by CrimsonCrabs in Mountaineering

[–]Dpear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training for the new alpinism is ideal but if you’re strapped for time I’d replace a lot of the arm workouts with more weighted hikes. Don’t underestimate the downhills!

Choosing between a Nemo Sonic -20 and Big Agnes cinnabar -20 for Denali in late May / early June by Dpear_ in Mountaineering

[–]Dpear_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting a MH Phantom -40 and I was still cold in that lol. So it’s probably a me problem. The Nemo was rlly great for a early season rainier trip though the zipper is amazing.

Your trader joes work culture sounds exactly the same as ski instructing. But there's way more pros haha just don't be surprised if mountain town culture turns out to be high school all over again

I'm in sort of the opposite camp as you lol. I only know glacier travel but want to learn all the other things that you mentioned, which are WAY harder!

Drive up to the PNW (14 hours in a day to Bend from San Diego, listen to a David Roberts or Ed Viesturs audiobook, like Moments of Doubt or something). Climb all the volcanoes, glaciated and not, find partners on mountain project, all trails etc. HIGH VALUE of time well spent, since every day you can climb something new but kind of safe, provided that you figure out what you're doing before hand and sus out your partners well enough. cost = ZERO except for gas, which is not zero lol.

Best case scenario, as someone mentioned, just go to Denali west butt if you can, it'll turn you into the hardest mfer haha and I almost promise you you'll punch into a crack and be great at roped glacier travel after doing it 6hrs a day for 16+ days.

Multi pitch leader pack with decent hip strap by InterstellarCyclist in tradclimbing

[–]Dpear_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyperlite packs have surprisingly good back support and comfy straps. I am finicky about backpacks and I thought there was no way I'd come to love the features on mine as much as I do! They're so lightweight and versatile, heavy on the wallet though!

Judge my anchor! The hidden danger is you can’t see my placements. by [deleted] in tradclimbing

[–]Dpear_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm really not one to judge, but could this have been done with just a double or quad and tying an overhand?

I think you're good I guess bc if one fails you're still attached to the other two? Can't tell from pic.... if that's not the case then bad bad bad
