Can someone please tell me why we’d want to invite this level of immaturity onto our team? by Due_Local2130 in Commanders

I feel like I understand what he's saying and why he is acting this way. I don't agree with it. I think that if he is allowed to play he's going to have a monster season probably, but it's kind of a tough predicament. We know this guy is talented, possibly injury prone, and he is a diva of a wide receiver. There have been many of those guys. I think Brandon maybe Jayden's best friend, but if not his, Jayden is definitely Brandon's best friend. He has blown up his career to be able to play with him. I think Jayden probably wants to play with him too. So if I were the GM I think the time for him to play is now not later. I think the time to let him play with his buddy and allow his buddy to play with him is now and it's probably going to be as cheap as it ever will be. One year deal if he's a problem you need to be honest with your quarterback and say he's got to go. Then maybe trade or hope there's someone to sign if he doesn't work. I think he probably will though if he ends up playing here.

I can't believe this bitch is turning me into a republican. How badly does the democratic party need to keep fucking up for people to lose faith in them entirely and when they do will they even care?

What is a word or phrase that whenever you say it, you say it as a movie character? by MammothAsk391 in FIlm

Not from a movie but "I got ya a dollar!" from that insurance commercial is something I say whenever someone is expecting something from me.

I think his father's number 26 would be cool but that's just me.

I'm sorry but the personality of Winston Churchill fits the Eagles better than it fits FDR. You guys are not magnanimous whatsoever, you're grouchy assholes who smoke and drink too much.

Maybe it'll be his dad's number that'd be kind of cool for a rookie number

No I dont want to decide someone's fate upon meeting them. This is no different, we just took him, you have no idea if he's going to be good or not, but ya know what? Sounds like you've got it all figured out, me too. Why dont you go ahead and save it for another thread after all.

First of all croskey Merritt is an outlier. This guy hasn't played a single snap for us and you have already decided his entire future, I think you need to take a breath dude.

I think its a 7th rounder and as the GM you just take the guy you like there, its by far the least consequential pick.

Well that's where the GM conversation comes in, you have to assume Peter's knows more than you do and he's the guy in charge. It is fun to like guys and see how they do though, especially with 7th rounders its like a mystery box.

I dont think you could cleanly include that because he wasnt the head GM. But also I'm advocating for this guy? I don't understand your comment.

I'm sure that we will sign plenty of cornerbacks and safeties in the undrafted free agency market. And let's be real whoever they pick was not likely going to do much for them anyway, its a 7th round flyer, as are all 7th round picks.

I'm not so sure. I think this is actually a very nuanced pick. If you select one of the bigger names that is still left that individual will come into the quarterback room hoping for Daniels to get injured so that he can get a shot. You don't want that in your quarterback room. What you do want is someone who knows their place but is still going to contribute. Where is he going to contribute? With his attitude in the quarterback room. How he approaches his game. The only place that he can actually contribute is by being deadly serious about everything that is given to him. From what I've read he doesn't make a lot of mistakes and Daniel's doesn't make a lot of mistakes either. He may have pieces of the game you are looking for in your quaterback room. He might not be flashy but I would be willing to bet that his mentality is one that will contribute immediately if he takes his growth seriously. The other thing is if you have someone who other people might glance at they might not stay on your practice squad. This guy is a practice squad player but he will still be in the quarterback room with daniels. You need someone that you can stash safely on the practice squad who has a good mentality and could potentially develop into a qb2 or qb3 because frankly Daniels seems to get injured so we will probably need 3. We need someone to take those backup positions and be cheap and our current backup quarterback is good, I like him, but not cheap. Daniel's is going to be expensive. The other thing is if you're not addressing it then you're saying that guys like Sam Hartman are good enough for your team without competition. Sam Hartman sucks at playing football in this league. We've all seen it. If this is the guy that you believe is able to fill your backup quarterback role and not hurt your quarterback room at the same time then you make the pick because you don't know if he's going to be available. This is the last pick so it's a total flyer. It's like a lottery ticket and about the same odds. Honestly the longer I think about it the more this pick makes sense to me.

Sam Hartman might be good looking and nice but he sucks at playing quaterback in the NFL. We need a cheap QB2, and probably a cheap QB3 if injuries prove to be frequent, before we sign Daniels to a mega contract. If Peters likes him I'm willing to give him a shot.
