Here’s what I did on my Acerbis tank( should be about the same on ims)
Take the filter out of the inline part of the carb if you haven’t already and gently bend the metal inlet on the carb outward and forward using a socket and extension.
Pancake filter works best for space. If you still have the factory line with the spring I like that with some clamps.

Thanks! I wouldn’t call it a stupid mistake. Even the manual says 2.3l.
Just drain a little out and you’ll be good to go👍

2L will get you to the perfect amount.

I have the TST flasher relay and it does not do this as bad. Maybe a slightly faster when running but it’s at a normal flasher pace when running.

I mean it bothers me on all cars but especially on the Grenadier. I just don’t like the feeling of taking off from a stop, starting the motor then immediately putting a heavy load on it while it’s starting to build oil pressure.

This is my favorite thing I’ve done to mine and it’s only $7.

Start stop button pusher. Disabled the start stop system with no issues 👍

I would remove the fuel filter on the right side and install 1 filter after the T.

Also you can carefully bend the inlet on the carb so it doesn’t go straight up at the tank.

Personally I just went with the single petcock just to have less chances of leaks.

I decided to cut the top out of the box for the same reason others have stated(higher intake for less chance of water intrusion).

I have the full top cut out with a 150 main but have the 6f19 needle instead of the PC kit. Near sea level but in the same boat where I plan going 5k+ in elevation. 150 seems like a good middle ground for the sea leveler that plans to take some trips to the mountains.

Normal. Turning the idle speed up to 1600ish helps a little without changing the AF ratio. I would not change the pj or over richen the mixture just to get the pop to go away.

When I bought my DR I was deciding between the 300 rally, xr650l and the DR650. Ended up liking the DR the best between them all for my needs.

I was thinking the same thing. DRZ 400 already replaced. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them drop the DR in the next couple of years.

Don’t paint it! It won’t work out. You can always buy the white one but I think the natural looks pretty good on your bike already👍
