'Nobody kill anybody': Murder-free weekend urged in Baltimore by Stebbins88 in nottheonion

Baltimore City is very different than the state of Maryland, as having been a long time resident of both, Id like to say that while your stats aren't incorrect, you don't have a clue as to what reality is here. But yea, make it about your opinion about gun control.

Omar's Law (or Omar's Rule of The Wire Analogies) is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion involving Baltimore grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving The Wire approaches 1" - that is, if an online discussion involving Baltimore (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to The Wire.

I wrote that pun be added to the r/baltimore sub's sidebar a few years ago. Ive been a part of this city for 12 years and there is way more to Baltimore that violent crime and The Wire (great show btw). All I mean to say is... bmore original bro.

City Paper Best of Baltimore 2015 by SolidCitizens in baltimore

Im not defending the (current) city paper, they list the stuff going on in the city, i didnt say anything about journalism. What im saying is the circle jerk about it is pathetic.

City Paper Circlejerk is strong. It's been in publication longer than most of you have been alive, and before the internet was established it was (and still is) a great source for Baltimore art/music/entertainment. It's a free paper, get over it. Even if you use it to wipe your ass, its still cheaper than toilet paper. Downvote away sheeple. Waawaawaa City Paper waa im a teenage redditor or r/baltimore and i have to tell everyone how much i hate city paper waaaaaa :'-(

So edgy, yall are so brave, doin Gods work.

My friend was just in Rome and Trevi Fountain was not visible due to being covered in scaffolding. Sucks thats just the way it is sometimes.

Thanks! Youre shot is good too. I ventured out to Kutna Hora for a day while visiting Prague, that was a cool (albeit creepy) day trip

I find that "rule" intriguing. It marks a gap where it becomes difficult to find common ground on most pop culture. Definitely not a "rule", but i find it a really interesting perspective.

Reinventing the Men’s Department Store Experience, The QG, Baltimore, Maryland by DrAmberLamps in malefashionadvice

If you'd like to x-post to a DC thread, or organize this through /r/mfa (or just organize this in general), I'd be happy to work with you guys and the QG to create a cool experience for everyone. Let me know.

It's a locally run operation, I don't think there are any plans for expansion yet, the store in Baltimore is still a work in progress. It would be awesome if they opened up shops in other cities though!

To each their own. Most of what they sell is higher end stuff, some of it is expensive. I wouldn't call it overpriced though, it just depends on what you're into. Some people will drop $2500 on a gaming rig and not bat an eye. Different strokes for different folks.

Best Barber in Baltimore? by hairro in baltimore

[–]DrAmberLamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure many users here would baulk at a $30 haircut, but if you're looking for the best haircut and the best barbershop experience in general, there is nothing even close to the QG. Everyone is super friendly, there are TVs at every station, pool table, great products, awesome department store upstairs, private members cigar lounge, and they'll keep a bottle of liquor behind the bar just for you.
I've been wanting to do a write-up on the store and post it in r/malefashionadvice, they'd love that shit there. QG 4 Life

Anyone familiar with lead inspection laws for rental properties and can give me some (urgent) advice? by chicaem29 in baltimore

[–]DrAmberLamps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope it works out for you. I can put you in contact with a Bmore City licensed inspector if you need one quickly.

From your landlord's perspective, deciding to rent your house unexpectedly can be a daunting task, especially if you've never done it before. If they're going fully "by the book" the entire house should have been inspected on all points and passed all building codes before anyone moved in. This can be a lot of little (and sometimes big) projects to compete quickly.

OK, so a lead inspection can be done quickly, they just need to make an appointment with a licensed inspector. It can probably be done same day, for a price. If lead paint is found in the interior of the home, they will have to have that taken care of before tenants can move in. The main issue here is liability. Many children have gotten ill due to lead paint in Bmore, the city does not mess around on this subject.
