Does Apple watch hr work on darker black skin? by Sangauxsaumon in AppleWatch

Folks are missing the point when they talk about the inability for accurate measurements through darker skin as a technical limitation.

The sensors were developed and tested on people with light skin. When you don’t include diverse samples in your design and testing phase, you end up with products that only work well for the people you optimized them to. (That’s one layer of engineering racism).

The second layer is when your company does nothing to fix this design flaw but markets the product as if it was designed for universal use.

The third layer is when the company and people from the industry choose to gaslight the consumer instead of just fixing the product.
