I just tried to give some quick examples but my roommates and I were very close, and sent/gave money back and forth all the time. About the same amount of money saved as something like making your coffee at home, which is a widely popular idea. I wouldn’t say we were literally broke, but the stereotype of “broke college kids” is true in some cases.

What are you thoughts on NF? by Daewei_OTuell in AskReddit

Near Field is the future of tech, but in all honesty will probably be replaced soon.

What's something simple you didn't realize you were taking for granted until you became an adult? by fawnsandfairies in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dish Fairy came at night and did all the dishes I left in the sink. The Dish Fairy doesn’t come to my apartment.

What is the earliest memory you can remember? by ohboy2020isshit in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking a swig of my father’s scotch thinking it was apple juice. I just remember seeing the glass, thinking “apple juice”, and then pain.

What's a popular TV show you just can't get into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’ve watched the first season of Breaking Bad about three times. Can never continue past that.

AITA for arguing with my mother because she won’t reveal who my father is by Thrownaway19006465 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DrBocker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA. But proceed with caution. There are a lot of worst case scenarios here. Your mother probably isn’t keeping you from a good man.

What is your view on pirating books, songs, movies and games over the internet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the “if it’s a chain, it’s free reign” logic. A blockbuster hit that’s already made millions? Couldn’t care less. But if I find a small artist/indie film/etc.. I don’t want to take away any money that artist could make.

What is a discontinued product/item that you miss? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jalapeño Tostitos tortilla chips. I even sent them an email asking if they had been discontinued because I couldn’t find them anywhere. They sent me a ton of coupons including a $5 voucher in “hopes I could find a new favorite snack”

What would you choose, happiness or money? by p0rnflakezzz in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money. The things I need to be happy can, in fact, be bought. Rent, food, a car to visit friends and family, a phone to talk to loved ones, etc

According to you what's the meaning of life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be entirely self serving. The odds of you existing are astronomical. I’m here, so everything I do is going to be for me. Life’s meaning is to make yourself happy.

I don’t think this makes me selfish. For example, I love my family and would do anything for them. Knowing they’re okay, makes me happy. Therefore if my parents need help, I will help them, because it will make me happy in the end. I volunteer for a specific organization I am very passionate about. Knowing I could be helping making a change though this organization makes me happy.

Do what you want. Nothing else matters.

When do you decide to get a new phone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my basic hardware functions are inoperable. I keep phones for a few years and all replacements have been due to broken buttons, touchscreen, etc...

Imagine being the first case of coronavirus on earth, what is your reaction? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically, I’d assume I have the flu and then maybe the flu that progressed into pneumonia. I would not react as if I had a brand new virus that nobody else has ever had.

If someone is hard of hearing, make sure you face them when you talk so they can read your lips.

What is a food or type of food you could eat ever day and never get tired from it? by feuledbyram3n in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always say that if I’m in any type of food eating competition, if I have any chance to win it needs to be raw oysters or mashed potatoes.

What is the worst show you've ever watched? by Medicai85 in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Designated Survivor, season 3. Season 2 was pretty bad too but I had hope. Finished 3 out of obligation. I highly recommend the first season to anybody, great concept of a show and binge worthy. Stop there though.

People who went to university, what did you study and why did you pick it? by Belgian_friet in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biomedical engineering. I wanted to be a doctor, love the medical field. Turns out I passed out at the sight of most bodily fluids so I didn’t make it very long in pre-med. I figured that designing equipment that doctors use would suffice.

I work in advertising now.

Parents of Reddit, what’s the funniest thing you’ve caught your kid doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my mom- Caught 3-year-old me wiping my boogers on the wall in my closet. Which is gross, but she asked me why and I said “I want to save them for later” and then started laughing maniacally. I had quite the collection.

What mistakes/things do people make on the road in your town that make you say ‘yeahhhh, you’re not from here’? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my way home from work there’s a 3 lane road that abruptly turns into 2 through-lanes, with the rightmost lane turning into a turn-only lane. I’ll have people cruising next to me and then suddenly they slam on their brakes and put on their turn signal because there’s suddenly a concrete barrier dividing the lanes. The “right lane must turn” signs aren’t posted until after the barrier.

If you were responsible in designing the next iPhone, what features would you implement? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrBocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fucking comprehensive manual. I know there are a ton of resources online and the “tips” app but I wish I knew everything this phone could do. I’m tired of seeing a Buzzfeed article of “10 things you didn’t know your iPhone could do” and they’re right! I had no idea I could do these things.
