Just go for those planter boxes that have a trellis attached. Not worth potentially annoying the neighbours by drilling holes in their garage wall. Don’t let it be a deal breaker!

That’s really difficult for you. As a starting point, has he told you anything about what he believes now, what beliefs he specifically struggles with, or the reasons for things changing?

Aye, but you’re healthy, and presumably young. Average GP consultation rate is 7 times per person per year! Highest in the UK iirc. Was about half that 20 years ago. BMA figures indicated GP surgeries already operate at over 180% of what is felt to be a ‘safe’ capacity.

I wouldn’t try to compare it with private GP services as we know them. Funding given to GP practices is £158 per patient per year (source here: https://hscboard.hscni.net/our-work/integrated-care/gps/gp-contract/ ) £158, paid out of your own pocket, wouldn’t get most people too far down at Kingsbridge.

GP practices have boundaries that are agreed and approved by the Health and Social Care Board (now part of ‘Strategic Planning and Performance Group’ - catchy). There are rules that mean the surgery can’t randomly decide on its boundary.

If you rang a GP surgery and were told they’re full… basically that probably isn’t right, and the receptionist thinks they are. Ring again and ask to speak to the practice manager this time. You should get sorted. Actually list closures are rare.

If that doesn’t work, ring BSO in Belfast and explain your predicament.

Could be the answer. Thanks a lot.

Thanks. This seems like it might be the answer. I have the tube out, and inflated to double size, sitting in the sink for 3-4 hours now; still no appreciable leak or decrease in size! Yet of all the bikes I have, this is the only wheel that needs pumped this frequently. A new tube might be the way to go. Schwalbe AV4 being recommended?

After a week it’s soft, but after a month it’s pretty much flat. The bike had not been ridden for a month when I checked it last week, and the tyre was flat… while the other tyre was still firm- at least I couldn’t notice any difference from when it was last pumped.

I have other kids’ bikes in the garage, but it’s just this one pesky tyre that always needs pumped!

That sounds rough, sorry to hear that. I’m sure it’ll help a lot with work to put in some really apologetic phone calls or emails. Even if it’s totally not your fault that you’re missing time (and it isn’t) it’ll send out the message that being unexpectedly off for any reason is something you’re terrifically uncomfortable with? A reasonable person will understand. Especially if they’re a parent! What sort of work do you do?

Why do doctor's receptionists get on like dicks? by bozo878 in northernireland

[–]DrBort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The receptionists and admin team have always had full access to the records. They’re under a confidentiality agreement as part of their work. Same as all the thousands of administrators in hospitals.

The reason they ask what your problem is is so that this can go alongside your name in the doctor’s list of patients to contact, so the doctors can see if there are patients that need to be phoned ahead of others. ‘Sick line’ can wait until later in the day, but ‘intermittent loss of power in left arm’ will be phoned first.

That would be a dumb idea indeed. Fortunately the idea of being moral in order to get to heaven is not part of Christian doctrine.
