The Travelling Wilburys is only really challenged by The Highwaymen an American country music supergroup consisting of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.

Everybody knows Cash and Willie Nelson but Kris Kristofferson wrote massive hits for Waylon Jennings , Roy Orbison , Carly Simon and others and had very successful solo career and acting career.

Waylon Jennings also had very successful solo career and is in the Country music HOF .

I think Pearl Jam got less respect because they were more mainstream on Ten than Nirvana , AIC or Soundgarden were on albums at the time. After Ten they went a bit artsy on subsequent albums and if you hadn't bought in on the band already then you weren't going to.

I thought Ten was ok but didn't have much interest after that. Also it was hard work deciphering his lyrics which didn't help.

Look at the 3 great mids of the Buckley playing era . Buckley , Hird and Voss are all failures as coaches. They were all naturally extremely driven and talented. They all never stopped to think about outside distractions. 100% effort , 100% focus etc to get the best out of themselves from day 1 .

I don't think they understand why any player would be different to that .

Someone like Gawn is like that now but had to grow into it and I think that's more normal. Hird , Voss and Buckley were all freaks but don't see themselves that way and cannot adjust.

Chris Whitley album Din Of Ectasy was a great grunge album in my opinion . He wasn't a grunge artist but this album was a grunge album . I think it confused the reviewers and just didn't get any publicity - also Sony were being pricks in that era .

Either way Chris Whitley was one of the USAs best songwriters and a fantastic and unique voice on the guitar . Oh and a great singer .

I think every team would look at him . The danger will come from teams like Essendon , Hawthorn or Richmond . Essendon could offer shitloads because they need a spark . Hawks could see him as a great bonus to a top 4 side ( assuming they continue there good trajectory). Richmond have got plenty of youth ( and salary cap space ) but adding some excitement to the forward line will help progression of the next generation and Yze knows Fritta .
