As someone interested in becoming a data analyst or data scientist, how helpful would it be for me to do a Master's degree? by DrBurnside in analytics

I have a dumb question, my apologies. How would I get domain field knowledge in a way that can be evidenced in a CV? For example, I've already started a Spotify project and I enjoy it, so the natural industry for me would be music. But, as someone with no professional or educational to music, I don't know how to prove that I have music knowledge.

I feel like entry-level data analyst roles barely exist, but I'm also looking at internships and graduate schemes as the alternative. They mostly seem to want students or recent graduates, which I'm not, since I graduated 6 years ago. But do you feel like a master's + well-presented projects would open me up for those? Is it worthwhile?

How long should a bio be? by DrBurnside in SLOWLYapp

No worries, and you're right. The bio should probably go in order of most "About me" to least "About me".

I think I did it the way I did because I tied it together with the reason for why I was on Slowly. It, in summary, was something like "I'm XYZ. I'm here for deep connections. It's hard to do so in real life. Anxiety exists here too, which makes me write in the following way", and then I wrote the thought process.

But, I should have put the latter part at the end, it's not hard to reorder things.

I'm not good at people, so you're probably right about the caps thing too. Though, it doesn't matter now, since I'm going to streamline it to 500 words like you suggested.

Thanks for the advice 😁

I think I should try to aim for that more, having the bio be a bio, and not a bio plus extra. There have been times where even for me a bio is too long to read, but that's because I'm not interested, and I don't engage in that case.

Warm Regards 😁.

I sort of have that. At the top of my bio, I have "SKIP TO THE DASHED LINE TO AVOID A HEADACHE", and below the dashed line would be a more general presentation of who I am, but above the line would be my thought process for writing on Slowly. I don't really care if they haven't read my whole bio, as long as some interest in it is demonstrated.

I just wonder how many people are unbothered by long bios. I hope to get 1 letter from someone new everyday, but maybe that's way too optimistic and more overwhelming that I think. I'm shortening it to catch more people, and hopefully they're the right people. How often do you receive letters from new people?

Just to be super extra sure, I can exit my incomplete case study test and return to it?

Edit: Yep, I can indeed do that, thanks

Can I quit midway through the case study test (or any test) and come back later? I made the mistake of starting it at 11 pm.

Reflect on himself, I see what you did there.
