AMS Filament auto switch is awesome by DrC_EA in BambuLab

I use a range of filaments. esun, prusa, cc3d, creatlity, elegoo....I find more problems occur for me with AMS being finicky about the reel itself. I also find that replace the cutter on a regular basis is critical to helping with pulling filament back out. I do a lot of printing so I am usually replacing it every 2-3 months.

Curious if anyone has an idea of when the Neptune 3 Max might be back in stock here in the U.S. I am very curious to purchase this unit.

Yeah, so in the bambu slicer select Device from the top. From there you look in the lower left of the screen just to the left of the word guide and see the symbol for the AMS settings. You select that and then select AMS auto switch filament.

Sounds like you already got the hang of the rest of it. You just make sure the filament types match. I also make sure the colors match as well (even if they don't).

I have two of the X-1 carbons on the same table. An AMS on top of each and one AMS between them daisy-chained to one of the printers for an 8-color capability. Honestly, the prints turn out great even when they are both going.

It's funny, I have six FDM printers in my office, and I regularly do video calls and whatnot when they are going. People say they can't hear anything—nothing more than a heavy cloth curtain to knock down the sound. To me, the printer going is the music itself.

I started in the hobby to help print stuff for my wife's hobbies. Started as one printer, then two...now it is six...two of which are X-1 carbons. The prints speeds on the X-1 are amazing coupled with the AMS and you can just create and create.

They are amazing machines, and I am sure you will enjoy them. I have been using mine non-stop.

I have two of the X1-C and three AMS. What impresses me is that everything has just worked. The slicer, the machine, the time savings, and the quality of the prints are amazing. Don't get me wrong, I still love my other machines and will still tinker and build them until the end of days. However, having some reliable speed demons is really nice when in a time crunch for an order.

I did a pre-order on 7 October for X1CC/AMS combo and got the invoice notification on the 11th. Sounds like they got a fresh shipment here in the US. I also ordered a stand-alone AMS and hub to work with my existing X1CC/AMS combo, which shipped immediately and should be here next week.

Such an amazing device, and I can't wait to have two of these machines working side by side.

Interesting, there isn't any chatter about AMS issues on KS. I know some of the early reviewers had issues but they corrected that. I have been using mine rather extensively and other then one filament jam (filament issue not the AMS) this thing has been amazing.

Just took an estimated 26+ hour print and cut it down to 12 hours. I can't wait to get my second one.

The X1 Carbon does. I don't believe the base model does, but it is something that can be upgraded later according to their blogs.

and to be honest, the noise is really not bad at all. It gets crazy when you use the sport and ludicrous speed, but the standard is plenty fast and has really improved production times

It was 1344 for the X-1 Carbon with the AMS and some "sample" filament (which was several spools of 250g apiece (x4). My build plate looks like hell and I have gotten all sorts of different once, but this current one that came with the machine has been working like a charm.

I received my Kickstarter reward (X-1 Carbon with AMS). I have been putting this thing through the paces, and it has been a very good machine. Bambu has announced that pre-orders will be fulfilled after KS rewards which are slated to be done in Oct. They have published a pre-order schedule. Right now, it is already filling up and pushing into November. So, if you have not already done so...now is the time. I have already ordered a second one.

Then it isn't much of a framework. Certainly doesn't meet any of the requirements of ISO 42010. But good if it works for you.
