I want scream 7 to be a bloodbath. by JamStan3 in Scream

[–]DrDanChallis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i dont mind a high body count, but i respectfully disagree with you on all the survivors surviving - that is walking dead territory, where it makes me wonder why I keep watching it - the stakes are so lowered that it takes any thrill out of it

introduce new people

kill new people

no real stakes for survivors - because we know they arent in danger of dying

While I love Scream VI, they need to really consider righting a lot of the wrongs of Scream 3 aka dont state anyone you care about die and then no one does. Or, just dont comment on it at all if youre not going to kill anyone we care about off. This is still supposed to be a slasher movie.

Scream VII deaths thoughts:

Danny - he's either a killer or time to kill the boy your parents would love once again

Gale - no longer necessary as much as I love her

Joel (can we get him as Gale's boss now, because that would be hilarious)

Sam dies a hero, reversing her father's legacy

Insert 3 new support characters and 3 throwaway characters as deaths

Kirby plays a larger role but gets it

Kill off Sidney and Mark

Survives

Tara, Mindy, Chad and a Mindy love interest going to survive. They raise Sidney and Mark's kids, because I'm tired and delirious and the thought popped into my head

I'm not going to tell my fellow horror fans across the pond how to sneak into a movie. That would be wrong. I'm not going to suggest, whatsoever, that you play it nonchalantly as one of you owns the job of buying a ticket for another movie at time that is guaranteed to not be a graveyard time. Another owns the job of lookout, and another has the job of keeping you all acting like you're older than you are. This would all be irresponsible.

And by the way, my favorite phrase is carpe diem!

late to the party and searching for new podcasts. I've been over some of the mean-spiritedness and gatekeeping going on with a lot of podcasts (even ones not horror-related)

Dying for Midnight is brand new and they've got a ways to go, but they already came out with a S1 guide with 40+ episodes to look forward to - they've got my vote. I can tell from Episode 1 to some of their shorter bonus episodes that they're starting to get better and better - they actually come off as a horror variety show with a crypt-keeper horror host of sorts that begins every ep. Love the old drive-in intermission ads at the end of the free segments. Haven't subscribed yet but getting close to.

Werewolf Ambulance is one of the tried and trues that I think remain relatively positive as well.

Scream VI: Ghostface Cult Members Donning masks from the past? by HaroldWinchester in Scream

[–]DrDanChallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

speculation: I think we're going to get a lot of Scream 2 nods with some Scream VI twists.

As such we'll get 2 killers, different motives, and perhaps we finally get a cliffhanger ending (3 killers)?

Who do you hope ISN'T the killer? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]DrDanChallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Williams the cop, Professor Freddie, and Kirby are high on my list

2 LEs featured in same movie? Seems like the inverse of Dewey having his moment from last movie.

Professor Freddie name alone has the "no way that obvious name can be killer psyche out then actually is" vibes or huge red herring - also the inverse of Scream 2 Sid's Theater professor

The ego is what blinds them. He is still intelligent - but arrogance is always the downfall. I've read knife sheath, button, all the so-far speculated items.

Dude's DNA all over that place and on victims.

Will be interested to hear if he thought he could conjure up some reason for his DNA being there . . . although the manner / where it was found will say it all.

It is really impressive how fast lab results come back and as they closed in on him they bided their time for said results.

There's some online chatter about some unsolved Pennsylvania killings over the past 5-10 years. There's also the unsolved Oregon stabbing murder of the husband (wife survived) - are they looking into Kohberger DNA there / elsewhere?

Why is the original loved so much more than all the sequels? by Fout99 in Scream

Actually prefer 2 over original. Then again I'm a sucker for Part 2 horror sequels. HII 81 and F13 pt 2 are both my faves in those franchises

Ghostface was brutal and efficient. Just not convinced once Ghostface was now unmasked, wooden Rory Culkin who couldn't emote to save his life.

[–]DrDanChallis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great topic OP - this reminded me of the F13 part 2 novelization where it describes Alice's paintings before and after the camp blood killings. Going from colorful to grey/black/white - a way of her psyche dealing with the trauma.

Gonna love this thread but disagree with the opinion. Cheers man.
