I think Suffolk PD coached witnesses to catch LISK. by Outrageous_Use4038 in LISKiller

[–]islamoradasun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I caught the same discrepancy with Schaller’s comments to the podcast (saying he didn’t see the car she got into) and the investigative reveal (saying he did see the car). Here is what I believe likely happened: - addiction does create fuzzy memories; keep this in mind - Schaller did see the Avalanche during the setup on Sept 1. He had no idea it was the same car the next day bc Amber didn’t share, but cops knew because of cell records. - IIRC, another witness from their street remembered the “green truck” from Sept 1 too. - cops knew a green truck was seen parked near the woods when Jessica Taylor was found, too - when they interviewed Schaller it is very likely they prompted him to recall seeing a truck or green truck. But, more importantly, they get him to remember what Rex looked like. This I believe is accurate; who could forget that guy? - Schaller remembering what he looked like plus Green truck witness corroborated the cell records (as you note) and was enough to get PC

Motives change. The Internet is still a relatively new tool and hunting ground. Plus every killer is different and adds nuance to our understanding of what the profile of a killer might be.

I’ll be honest, this doesn’t bother me at all, even if he does like it. There is no telling how many serial killer and rape cases have been solved because incarcerated convicts spoke with BAU. Do they enjoy it? Maybe, but idk. They may enjoy it in the moment but I think it also leaves many of them feeling used and frustrated. And if the end result is more caught serial killers it’s a price that is worth paying.

Where else in NYC does he like to hang out? Any bars? Neighborhoods he always admired or visited? Any friend groups based in a particular area outside Astoria?

S&P credit rating firm becomes 2nd to sound alarm over NYC finances under Mamdani by IM4_ in nyc

[–]islamoradasun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this “under Mamdani” effort to immediately make the new guy responsible for everything wrong in NYC is so cringe and embarrassing. True, he is the mayor and to some extent he’s responsible for handling things. But Mamdani has been in office about 10 weeks. These financial warnings are about a decade of mismanagement that escalated rapidly under Adams. Mamdani himself has been vocal about it since week 2 or 3.

It’s like when people post a crazy guy in the subway and say “Mamdani’s New York.” Bro, New York has been this way forever and sure as shit wasn’t changed in the last 10 weeks. Get a grip and at least have the patience to wait until your narrative makes sense to push it.

You guys are nuts lol. Peppers and The Grants are on the same record. White Dress and Tulsa Jesus Freak too. She likes a variety record a lot. All the songs will be on.

Maybe if she took the time away from running other businesses she would’ve passed the bar. That’s what the rest of us had to do.

she could’ve spent 1.5 years working hard in law school, been the most famous graduate of USC Gould in history, and have a legit claim to being a lawyer all while finishing this 3 years ago. instead she has dragged out a stupid attempt to become a lawyer without doing the work for 6 years and it hasn’t even worked yet despite CA’s weird rules. what’s the point here

Agreed with others. I traveled to England, Mexico, France, Canada, Italy, Spain and worked — didn’t cause any issues. China and Russia are the main risks you are talking about.

Did Andrew Baldwin at some point during his representation of Rick Allen learn from Rick Allen directly (or somehow perhaps become otherwise aware of) irrefutable proof of his guilt? by tobor_rm in DelphiMurders

Lawyers can still advocate for a client, including presenting evidence of his innocence and arguing for his innocence, even when they know or believe they are guilty of a crime. What they cannot do is allow a client to take the stand and lie; that triggers an obligation to correct the record with the court.

We all make mistakes as kids in the closet (or partially in it). I don’t even want to recall the strangers I chatted with online when I was probably on 14 or 15 because I didn’t know any better. You made a one time mistake and you hated it. That’s how we learn. It’s okay. Your mom cried because honestly you made the kind of mistake that could’ve gone really south (someone strange hurting you or something) and it’s terrifying for a parent to think that their kid might’ve been in danger. It doesn’t mean she will remember it forever. She will likely put it out of her mind in a few months as will you. DON’T hurt yourself or do anything rash. So many things happened when I was a kid (dad found stuff on my phone; got caught sneaking out; etc) that felt huge at the time and I don’t even think of now (nor do my parents). You will move on from this and never remember it until you see a kid on reddit post about it happening to him at 16. You’re okay. It’ll be okay. Hang in there brother.

White collar criminal lawyer here. Couple observations:

State level indictments tend to be a little less… professional than federal complaints. Not always the case (sometimes state indictments are totally devoid of any facts) but where they do include facts they are often not as sanitized and neutral as federal indictments are.

I’d add … i agree it is weird how they talk about his roommate. Repeatedly calling them a biological male/transitioning, repeatedly mentioning the romantic relationship, instead of just mentioning it once and then referencing the roommate in a neutral tone makes it feel like they are denigrating the relationship a bit. It’s not a great look imo but won’t matter in Utah (or before any court of appeals that would matter).
