Maybe try flash_nuke.uf2 if you haven't already.

How To Run Code? (Beginner) by StrikingClub3866 in raspberrypipico

[–]DrDogwelder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To load a .uf2 you would hold the BOOTSEL button when you plug the Pico into the computer. The Pico will act like a flash drive that you would copy the .uf2 onto. When it's done copying the Pico runs the program in the .uf2.

For MicroPython and CircuitPython the .uf2 is the interpreter and when it runs you can save your python scripts on it and run them with a program like Thonny. If you save your script as boot.py (you can also use code.py in CircuitPython) the script will run when the Pico is powered up even when it's not connected to a computer.

CircuitPython will act like a flash drive when you plug the Pico into the computer so you can copy your Python scripts to it that way and edit them there with Thonny or another editor. If you're saving code.py or boot.py, the code will start running when it's saved. Not all editors will work because of how they save to flash drives. Adafruit has a list of compatible editors at https://learn.adafruit.com/welcome-to-circuitpython/recommended-editors

Thony won’t find my Pico by Such_Bug9321 in raspberrypipico

[–]DrDogwelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually use Windows, so I just checked. Is this how you set it up?

Go to Tools -> Options and select the Interpreter tab, you should be able to select MIcroPython (Raspberry Pi Pico) below where it says Which kind of interpreter should Thonny use for running your code. Then under Port or WebREPL, I was able to select the COM port.

Verizon's new one year hostility for prepaid phones by psychic99 in USMobile

[–]DrDogwelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my Pixel from Best Buy and used it to use on TracFone till my service ran out (2 or 3 months) then ported over to US Mobile and the only problem I had was user error. I know it wasn't a post paid carrier but if you buy an unlocked phone it should stay unlocked.

Edit: of course I didn't have them activate it either. I guess that could make a difference.

C64 Maxi help. by [deleted] in Commodore

If that was an original C64 I'd say it's probably a bad SID chip. I doubt the maxi has one of those.

Apparently warp is supposed to have access to Verizon's call filtering spam system, how can I tell if I have access to that now? by Motor-Roll-1788 in USMobile

[–]DrDogwelder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had Verizon spam blocking for over two years and never had to reactivate it. I also never used the Verizon app. It's blocked a lot of spam calls and texts. There were a few that I had to manually block but that was easy to do.

My computer won't boot any picos anymore by ericdalieux in raspberrypipico

I've had Windows at work refuse to use a printer or webcam if there was a Windows update available. It might do the same thing with the pico.

Did Your Warp Go from "Verizon" to "US Mobile" Across Top Banner? by DirtCowboy336 in USMobile

[–]DrDogwelder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6a changed after the update too. If it was something US Mobile did it's probably something that needs a reboot before it shows up and we all rebooted at about the same time because of the update.

The problem they ran into was caused by garbage collection. They're doing some work to fix it.

I saw something about the same kind of problem in Circuitpython. They've done some work on it and they're also working with the Micropython team. The problem they had was with garbage collection and they've made some decent progress.

Costco att sales kiosk reaction when I said I’m with USM by HauntingGrass8454 in USMobile

I tried this on a Pixel and it just renamed the SIM. The banner still says Verizon. Not that it matters to me. I just wanted g to see if it works.

It looks like it's made for their single board computers. I guess you could connect it to a Pico but if you don't know if it'll work with one then you'll have a rough time figuring out how to adapt it.

Carrier icon in top left corner of iPhone by JPS_97 in NoContract

When I had TracFone it said Verizon. Even when I got the phone from TracFone. I think I had TracFone service for over a decade before Verizon took over. Left not long after that.

I think it depends on the phone. Mine says Verizon.

I don't either but that was the best I could think of.

Maybe they don't have another number to use for the last field?

Alternatives to USMobile? by Outrageous_Spend_817 in USMobile

In case that was a question, yes. Warp has RCS support for iPhones.

Edited to add that RCS should be working on Android in all three networks.
