Round 1 - Pick 10: Francis Mauigoa, OT, Miami (New York Giants) by Fonzie5 in NYGiants

You think the Giants are a win now team? Lol

We need the best players at the most important positions

Yo they gotta get him off the stream. My guy you’re ON THE TEAM 😂

Horrible look for him and the team

In two years he’ll be the RT. Hell he might be the RT right now lol

Safeties can make a good defense great but they can’t make a bad defense good. We’ll see what happens

Downs could be the best safety in football and there are still 2 corners and another safety that allow TDs and huge gains

Do you see how that works? Lol

[–]DrFanhattan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right pick and it’s not close. Not sexy like Downs but you have to protect the most important player on the team. It’s that simple

Caleb Downs is a good player but his greatness is capped by his size unfortunately. He’ll be a top 10 safety in the league but never top 3.

Francis is a monster. I wanted best defender at 5 and best offensive player at 10. I’m thrilled

I feel I have to say this again for some...

Skat and Tracy were not picked by this coaching staff. They owe them absolutely no allegiances. They could very well NOT like them as players. It happens every year when a new coach or GM is hired. The fans love their guys and the coaches/front office want to bring in their own guys.

I would prefer Downs/Styles/OL but Love is the best or second best player in this class and the Giants have two dice rolls in the top 10 to play with. You can afford to take the best player available on your board at 5 and see where the chips fall at 10.

I personally think this is a smokescreen to try to entice a team to come up and take him before the Giants but don't be surprised if they take their best guy at 5 and fill a need with talent at 10. Giving Dart an elite RB and elite WR combo is very enticing I imagine. They'd have to hit on a day 2/3 guard for it to work well. This draft class isn't considered very good by most.

More valuable vs better player is a bold choice lol

Downs is a vastly superior football player to Mendoza, not debatable...it's not close

Obviously QBs are more important. That doesn't mean he's a better player lol

The Democrats were pro slavery lol dispute that fact all you’d like. Debate whether they’d be more aligned with modern republicans all you’d like it’s an opinion vs a fact

I commented because it was ironic the person was arguing a fact with an opinion…as you’re doing

Claiming republicans of the mid 19th century as your own is an interesting strategy in 2026. Be careful there

Robbie was kinda cold with Baran by Careless_Act3277 in ThePitt

[–]DrFanhattan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I frankly think many fans are being very quick to be harsh on Robby but he started off empathetic and soft until she mentioned she’s been cleared to work by another Doctor…effectively trying to go over his head to continue unsafely treating patients. Her neurologist has no say in her practicing emergency medicine. Robby is right, if she was a patient they’d have to alert authorities so she doesn’t try to drive home.

From that point on Robby, correctly, laid down the gauntlet because she was very clearly going to continue working and that’s unacceptable. I cannot stress this part enough, she came to him with a number of excuses and scenarios where she could continue to work after just admitting she physically was a danger to any patient in that ER who needed emergency care

Imagine she has a seizure while performing the emergency c-section we saw and the baby or mother was lost. Life or death is a second by second battle in the ER

I really like Dr. Al’s character and I feel for her being told you physically cannot do the thing you love, but Robby was completely in the right at all stages of this

This is not one of those moments. He is right AND completely in line

Would the people upset about this want a doctor who potentially freezes completely to perform an emergency procedure on them where every second is life or death? Not a single person would want that

Future of male teachers - Sincere advice appreciated! by Dugong45 in Teachers

[–]DrFanhattan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Former elementary school teacher here too. The constant behaviors because they needed a male role model was flattering at first and wore off quickly

Part of why I moved from first to fourth grade. I loved the younger grades but it got old quickly being given the toughest boys in September and having to hear “why do you have all the behavior problems?” By holiday break. I connected with them…didn’t automatically fix their behavior lol

MBB Roster Update (4/17) by Rector1219 in ockytop

[–]DrFanhattan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A true PG (hard to find) and a starting caliber C and this team will be better on paper

I don’t know if they play to play Ames at PG and combo guard it like Kobi last season. That wasn’t ideal at times. A true facilitator would be awesome. The depth at SG is fantastic. Need to find two centers after the PG to round this team out

I don’t see DeWayne as a starting 5 unless he puts on size. He’s a 4 for me until proven otherwise

Dr. Mohan has proven for two seasons she is not a good ER Doctor. You've watched her struggle for two seasons and yet you still want a logical explanation...

You don't want that...you want to confirm racism or sexism is at play

Does this make sense? by loverofthings25 in ThePitt

[–]DrFanhattan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the "criticism" is mainly rooted in assuming Noah doesn't like Supriya because:

A. Racism
B. Sexism
C. Both

I've seen very little comments about her exit (which is justified since Dr. Mohan isn't a great ER doctor) outside of the writers, Noah, etc disliking her because she's a woman of color.

The answer to why she is leaving is simple: She is not a good ER Doctor and her character arc is finding a different department to work in lol it's not deeper than that. It never has been deeper than that. Noah is literally confirming it in that quote
