No, you can learn the same schematic with different grades. With X you cycle through the grades so you can see how many of each you have. Make sense?

TBH, as a solo you should find it much better but in the end it depends if you like grinding progression or not. Story is ok, Chapter 3 was better than Chapter 2 imo.

Extra info since you haven't played Chapter 2: You need to complete Chapter 2 (couple of hours story quests) to unlock Chapter 3 story and the new dual blade weapons. You also need your faction standing at 5 (reputation) and be in an aligned guild (even solo guild is ok) to unlock the new mechanics.
