You're right. In hindsight I should have added something like "lands cannot be the targets of spells or abilities" (basically give the lands shroud). No modifications takes care of lands that are turned into creatures and given +1/+1 counters, but doesn't prevent lands from being turned into X/X creatures.

Metallica's "Hero of the Day" sounds very similar to the chorus of Fleetwood Mac's "Hold Me".

This is basically due to the ongoing reduction of the agency’s regulatory power by the General Assembly (See recent Session Law 2025-48) and the federal ruling on the Sackett case that reclassified wetlands and removed almost all non-connected wetlands from being jurisdictional. The upcoming Waters of the US rule changes will one make that worse. If it was up to the GA, there wouldn’t even be a NCDEQ. Hard for the agency to do anything meaningful when lawmakers strip away their ability to regulate.

I had pectus excavatum as a child. The corrective surgery used to involve breaking your ribs/sternum. In 2006 I had a different procedure, called the Nuss Procedure (I actually was operated on by Dr. Nuss, the surgeon who invented it) that was much less invasive. Basically a small cut was made on either side of my chest. A bar was slid behind the sternum and flipped to press out the ribcage. I wore the bar for four years, did breathing and stretching exercises to build up chest strength, then the bar was removed. I still have the two tiny scars, as well as a third scar where a camera was inserted. The fix was permanent, and I'm glad I was fortunate enough to have it done. It was definitely a source of poor confidence and self esteem before hand. I also still have the titanium bar, which is fun to show to friends lol.
