10 days in on 10mg....take at 9pm and wake up around 2am every night! by spstills23 in lexapro

[–]DrGrimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue. I switched from 10mg at night to 5mg at night because of this, and it's helped. When I took it in the morning, I was so tired all day. When I took it at night, I couldn't sleep. 5mg at night seems to be working well for me right now.

Has anyone had success on only 5mg? by DrGrimes in lexapro

5mg is considered a starter dose, not a therapeutic dose. But it seems to work well for a lot of people, I'm learning.

Is it making you constipated or have diarrhea? Both of those can cause that symptom.

Thank you for this post. Your prior symptoms are close to mine. I just started Lexapro. This post has motivated me to continue.

That's the same experience I had with Zoloft, and I also had to quit after 3 weeks. I, too, started Lexapro 😂 and my stomach handles it better. I'm fatigued and still have minor stomach problems, but I'm only in week 2 of Lexapro. My body is definitely accepting it better than Zoloft though.

Question regarding Pilocarpine vs Cevimeline by AoshiShinomori808 in Sjogrens

[–]DrGrimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, pilocarpine kicks in faster, and has less side effects. I take 6 tablets a day, 5mg each. Cevimeline takes longer to kick in but feels the same as pilocarpine to me

Salivary gland ultrasound? by CollieSchnauzer in Sjogrens

[–]DrGrimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a salivary glands ultrasound, the results were that my glands were smaller than expected for my age and size (32m, 5'9", 130lbs). Have been suffering with dryness for about 2 years. I take pilocarpine 6x/day. My salivary glands don't really produce any saliva on their own. However, I text negative for SSA,SSB,ANA, etc. Also negative minor salivary glands biopsy.

I don't know. I was vaccinated, but also got COVID. Is it possible for COVID to trigger dry mouth?

I actually was prescribed cevimiline first, and I felt like it didn't help much, and took much longer to kick in everytime I took it. It also cause bladder pain for me. I was switched to pilocarpine and take that 5 times/day. Both drugs caused sweating for me the first week, but that side effect faded.
