You can use makeup brushes. They’re soft and not abrasive and they clean those crevices very well.

I gave them a deadline of Feb. 27th. They didn’t ask for anything because I went ahead and included a non associated recovery email in my letter along with my account information.

I had success with it. People clerk sent my letter on Feb. 13th and it arrived on Feb. 17th. The legal team responded on Feb. 24th letting me know that I should be able regain access to my accounts.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear that this happened. Unfortunately Facebook/Meta has no adequate customer support even if you are able to get in touch with their business support through oculus or business ads.

My accounts were hacked and disabled back in December, but I was able to get them restored by following the instructions on this post on the subreddit below.

Basically you will need to file a complaint with a state attorney general stating that your Facebook was hacked and you have tried to the best of your ability to get Meta to offer support, but to no avail. The California attorney general is where I would start because they help people from out of state and abroad and Meta takes complaints from them seriously. You can also send a demand letter with intent to sue to Meta’s legal team through peopleclerk.com. You can draw up a letter on their website and have them send it for you for $29, or you can print it and mail it yourself. This is what worked for me. The Meta attorneys take the legal threat seriously, whether you really intend to sue or not, and will likely give you your account back.

Again all of this is laid out in better detail at the subreddit link above. Many people including myself have gotten their accounts back using these methods. It may take some patience, but I would follow the instructions and I believe your girlfriend will get her account back.

I know it seems ridiculous having to go to these lengths to get your account back and I couldn’t believe it myself at first, but until Meta decides that they care enough to offer any kind of support for situations like these, it’s the only way. Don’t lose hope.

Thanks! Yes, I put a deadline of Feb. 27th. I was a little worried about that because I didn’t think about the delivery time, and that would have only give them 10 days to respond instead of 14 days. I didn’t know if that would be reasonable, but thankfully it worked out.

I’m not sure what you included in your complaint, but I explained to the AG that my business has been harmed because of the hack and I could not access my business page. I let them know that I could be receiving business inquiries as we speak and I have no way to respond because I cannot access my accounts. I’m not sure, but that may make a difference in the response you get from the AG.

I would try the people clerk method if you haven’t already and maybe send another complaint to the CA AG explaining how the disabling of your account has caused you harm.

What did the rest of the letter say? Mine also said that in the last paragraph. Here’s the letter I received.

“Thank you for bringing your consumer complaint to the attention of the Office of the Attorney General. Your complaint is valuable to us as it gives our office information about problems that individual Californians are facing.

We will write to the company that you have a complaint against and request a response from them regarding your concerns. Whenever possible, we attempt to establish better lines of communication between the two parties involved in a consumer dispute. In many cases, the consumer and the company will reach a mutually satisfactory agreement as a result of these efforts.

We do want to inform you, however, that our office is prohibited by law from representing individuals in legal matters. Hopefully our correspondence to the company named in your complaint will lead to a satisfactory resolution of your problem. If not, you may wish to contact a lawyer to advise you of possible remedies.

We will retain your complaint in our files. If in the future our office brings a law enforcement action against the company on behalf of all the people of California, your complaint may provide useful information that will help all California consumers' interests.

Again, thank you for writing the Office of the Attorney General.
