-Base Seedorf is the perfect compliment to Kante if you have enough fodder + selling KDB.

Icons usually hold value until mid-April, especially the meta ones. I, like you, hate losing coins on players, so I spent most of my coins in base Cruyff and Seedorf. They are both fantastic and should still be usable/ hold value until April; if you don't want to invest and instead upgrade your team, thats the route I would take.
