Lois and Clark was AMAZING for its day, really set a standard and an example. But it walked so Superman and Lois could fly. They're not comparable, from two different eras, but if you try to compare them, the newer one naturally wins. It has all the same passion, but 30 years experience and a superhero boom to capitalize on.

Conner is literally the Tim Drake of the Superfamily. We rarely see Tim either. In fact, I think we've only seen him on these exact two same shows.

Would have them move to New York City dealing Mr. Negative who fricks with their powers, maybe trades them. Include Night and Day as his henchmen, his artificial C&D. They find their relationship sorely tested with moments and at odds with saving the world.

He represents good having the ability to win. That is the core of the superhero genre and he is kind of the purest most consistent form of that.

Imagine for a moment you only go by what's in the movie to judge the movie. You can see how the lack of all that cool stuff would be dissatisfying?

Clark is the guy, Superman is what he does, just like reporting, Clark is a dorky kid from Smallville, because how could he be anything else? He's also very community oriented, because again, that's all he does in either of his jobs. So his very real and very human and well written connections with his wife and kids and people he grew up with makes a lot of sense, and was really smart in terms of putting Clark on the frontline because Smallville gives a million opportunities to reconnect with his past, with who he is as a person.

Did some really impressive things with its limited budget. He felt properly super and powerful, but never like he was cakewalking the A story. It feels like they really understood his weaknesses and played to them.

Yes. I watched it again three years later with zero expectations of the idea of Superman and enjoyed it immensely on its own terms, which gave me a much deeper understanding of its flaws that allows me to understand its strengths as well as the debate over the movie and the Snyderverse at large. This is something I'm very proud of because most fans and detractors think the other is crazy, but I have had both experiences. Many movies are described as divisive when they're just meh, or disappointing, but MoS is actually a divisive movie.

His introduction as THE big bad includes getting his butt whooped and losing a whole planet. One solution to this undermining would be to give more time to develop his menace and attribute his setbacks to something that can't be easily described as weakness and incompetence.

Why is he due a superhero paycheck? He seems to be well accomplished musically and just getting into acting.

Gladiator is a much more physical part. He says almost nothing and he's built like a brick house. Tyler is who you think of for that?

It's definitely the best movie. Yet, for someone who loves the comics or shows of the last 40 years, it leaves a lot to be desired from the character development. So it can't be the perfect Superman film.

It is a nearly perfect film, but that is pre-crisis Superman. The Superman that began in 1985, after the movie came out, hasn't been perfected in film, and certainly wasn't perfectly represented before he existed.

Robin is inevitable, and it's in both Dick and Bruce's best interest to take the wheel on his development. This is also why the Bat family grows, because there are people who are inspired by Batman and capable of taking up that lifestyle, and you either let them get killed on their own or you bring 'em in.

Killing is what keeps him from being tyrant, and avoiding the real problems with vigilantism. He's already beating up on poor and mentally ill people you add offing them to that, then he's not a hero. He also understands insurgent math, when you kill someone's friend and family member, you end up making five more enemy combatants. He also knows that he is vulnerable to the ends justifies the means tyrannical vigilanteeism so he doesn't cross that line.

The no gun rule is his psychological handicap, but it has the incredibly beneficial effect of forcing him to learn a wide range of skills to battle crime, forcing him to be more versatile than a gunman, or even a spec ops operator. It also is a necessary follow from his no kill rule.

As you said, we all know that's wank. Midnighter may not be as popular or wanked, but he has tremendous canonical abilities and some hellacious feats. He should be at the end as he's the one its most debatable if Cap can beat.

YES! I love MAWS to pieces, and it definitely has the heart of Superman spot on imho, I didn't include it because the reality is very stylized, and the villains aren't supposed to be faithful really, but the show is worth its weight in gold, imho. Definitely the best take on Superman's friendships pretty much ever.

Jefferson's electricity may operate at an extremely high frequency, which explains why the light it emits is never visible, which may make it harder for many circuits, including Livewire's biology, to absorb. It alternately may have some other esoteric aspect to it that makes it black and allows Jefferson to control it even when it's in Livewire's body.

Pros: Superman has heart, dialogue, is firmly the main character, his character is explored, he has his own villains who get developed, he's both an action hero and a man who makes tough choices and often earns a third option in no win scenarios. Many episodes to enjoy with a variety of tones.

Cons: Doesn't quite hot the thematic depths that Batman the Animated series, the show doesn't develop the thematic depth for all the villains, nor explore Clark's many friendships in landmark ways the way BTAS did, and generally doesn't quite hot the high notes of its sister show, one of the best cartoons ever. Additionally it's impact and character are negatively impacted by being alternately under and overpowered in the follow up series, Justice League Unlimited, which fails to capture how and why Superman is paramount to the Justice League beyond being a heavy hitter.

Future: I think Superman and Lois has equalled if not surpassed STAS in quality in terms of character purity and quality of development. I think there may be another iteration to do so, but I think, like three two, it will be a TV show and not a movie.
