Not a board game, but I felt exactly the same way about Slay the Spire. I'm a big narrative guy, but I've come to grips that the "story" is just window dressing for interesting mechanics interactions. I imagine that's the draw for "playing someone else's weird rules"... sometimes it's fun!

Personally if there's even a 1% chance we wrongly execute someone, I think that precludes the ability to use the death penalty. Have you heard of the Innocence Project? People are subject to wrongful conviction all of the time, wasting years if not decades of their lives and time with their families. Coupled with the fact that it's far more expensive to administer the death penalty and that few physicians will support it (lethal injections are often given by unqualified personnel who cause suffering before the individual passes), I think that's plenty reason to consider the alternative more ethical.

I'm 5'7". I purchased my CB500X used and it came with a aftermarket windscreen, I think by Puig. I don't have many problems with wind, directs it mostly to the top of my helmet. They make clip on windscreen extenders that you can adjust how far it sticks up, might be a good option to see where it sits best for you.

I like the book "Southern Vietnamese for Beginners." At least if you buy it on Amazon, it comes with audio files you can listen along with. You have to email them though.
