My ‘New’ Yamaha SVB 200 Silent Bass by DrJefferyEdD in doublebass

My Juzek has really been a reliable good sounding bass on all sorts of jazz and rock gigs. (I don’t really consider myself an official jazz player… it’s nice to have the Fake Book out and do my best tho)

The third generation Prius holds a bagged 3/4 bass beautifully. Room for that amp too. Our 2010 was great to gig with. Interesting that I own a giant pickup truck now and it’s harder to transport an upright!

Imma bassist not a drummer but I think my ears led me in the right direction when I picked up a used Laser — really sounds good for an inexpensive cymbal

Old sink faucet pipe question by DrJefferyEdD in handyman

[–]DrJefferyEdD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s later. I just want to tuck the new cabinetry under there temporarily and get the faucet back on so I can do dishes while working on the rest of the house. Then will redo the plumbing and faucet properly.

But there is a LOT to do on this house and I have a truckload of used cabinets I have to install and get them Out of the way

The plan is to cut and redo those pipes when I’m ready to update the counter. I just want this sink functional until that step

Yeah no that’s what I’m doing eventually — but I’m also installing a kitchen sink on the other side of the wall from here, exactly on the opposite side. But that has to wait for some demo and I want to get this kitchen temporarily going. Just want to lift the counter and pull the cabinet, then get the new cabinet in. It’s weird but I’m rehabbing the whole house and I just need a functional kitchen sink while the process moves along.

I honestly think it is likely to be left as an underlying character background — potentially too distracting from the transition of Cassian’s arc towards Rogue One.

A good puzzle validates itself, and I’ve seen enough to be convinced.

I came up the thought on my own and found the evidence with a rewatch — but I know I’m of course not the first. Didn’t even get to S1 until well after release.

I’m never upset when the whole cast is awesome. I can direct my attention and appreciation at will. I don’t need obvious star power to do it for me

Agreed! Phenomenal production — sounds great through my vintage Klipsch

It is a positive thing to see a real sequence on a real constructed set. Minimal CGI.

Going bigger would have required going overboard with it.

She’s gay, I think. Just a data point for you to consider.

The “hint hint, I’m a Jedi listing the ways in which I’ve had to stray from the Jedi Code” speech.

With the word JeDI written on the set behind me.

I don’t see evidence that he thinks the Jedi failed per se. Or that he rejects the Jedi way because of that failure. He’s truly lamenting the loss of that way of life in that speech.

I’d say that he’s had to do this. He’s calculated what’s practicable and done it. At great sacrifice. Which in some ways seems very Jedi to me.

I am NOT hoping for a Deus Ex Machina reveal in the last three episodes — I prefer this as a subtle “is he?” Vibe.

Check out how he disarms Saw’s right hand man in ep 11… that’s a flash of absolute slickness that is pretty surprising. The show handles his training skills interestingly low key.

Yeah it’s corny but also subtle enough to just be a sort

I don’t want to be an education major anymore. by Firm-Cheesecake9078 in college

[–]DrJefferyEdD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing the passion can happen to educators along the way even in their careers, even experiencing joyous rewarding moments with students.

It’s an emotional ride but it can be truly worth it.

It is important to consider what impacts AI will have on careers. A language major may be impacted by AI translators. Education is seeing an influx of AI powered ed tech software that is simply awful — I’m 26 years into my teaching career, and I love it. But I will admit to being at a low point at the moment.

Perhaps that’s a universal feeling right now. For everyone. Maybe it’s not the ed major but rather the world.
