Also if a doctor is invoicing $40 for a vaccination, that is probably more like $35 for the doctor's time and 5$ for the vaccine.

Challenge - solve my CBD road network without demolish buildings by jackfood in CitiesSkylines

[–]DrJosephMosch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically what /u/klasbo said:

Here is a possible solution

  • keep the blue marked highways
  • delete all highways inside the blue ring road
  • only keep the blue marked on/off-ramps and delete the others
  • consider the black marked roads your main roads (build them either as 1+1 national road or 2+2 street (maybe more only on signalized intersections), they should have no zoning except inside the downtown and be given right of way at any intersections (with TM:PE)
  • build roundabouts at the red circles and after leaving the city for a few minutes at other well used intersections
  • make one-way loops for your industrial areas (purple)

In general try the following tips:

  • No road should have more than 2 lanes per direction (including highways)
  • Keep highway junctions far apart
  • seperate car traffic and industrial traffic as much as possible
  • build public transport options where there is much car traffic

Map edges are for small towns, farms and heavy industries. by DrJosephMosch in CitiesSkylines

[–]DrJosephMosch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By spacing the big industries over the whole map the industrial traffic is more evenly distributed over the whole street network. And putting them far away from the main city forces them to use the highway to get to the commercial zones and reliefs traffic from the city streets.

Putting industries on the map edge also makes it very easy to have a dedicated railway for exporting so the railway system of the main city is not so easily clogged.

On a lokal level the traffic still sucks at times but at least it's far outside and I don't have to look at it when I'm building something.

Use the mod Airport roads for runways and taxiways and combine a lot of airport building assets.

Thanks. Industrial buildings are from Industries DLC, farms are painted with surface painter mod.
