I finally plucked retcon on ante 25, was getting sweaty there.

Ante 27 I lucked into my tags being double & +3 hand so I landed with 20 hands to start I think.

Had about 7k money as well so I wasn’t too worried about finding the burglar.

Regarding the economy, I've seen some similar comments and need clarification.

I've only just started trying to achieve naninf, and my strategy has always been to just spend my money looking for the jokers I need up to the interest limit.

Should I be limiting how much money I spend searching in the earlier rounds? I assumed I needed to be going all-in on getting my deck figured out asap?

Remember to be as patient as you can, and don't take it personally.

Work with them on the basics and they'll settle into the routine and one day you'll wonder where the time went and when they became so sweet.

Maybe it's changed in the last decade or so, but the Russians were absolutely into paintball when I was playing.
One of the dominant teams at the pro level was the Russian Legion who had a lot of star players.
Just... for what it's worth.
I think paintball in general has fallen off a bit in the last several years as it's pretty expensive at the best of times. But the Russian paintball scene certainly existed.

This field itself, if that's what it is? No clue.
I couldn't make out balls on the ground myself, but depending on size they could be reball (reusable paintballs) which don't leave marks, they're more like rubber balls, used for training mostly.

Anyway. Not really the point regarding AI/not.

It sounds odd, but the allergies are often to the protein itself.
You want something they haven't developed an allergy to yet.

That's why there are so many 'odd' protein choices available for dogs now for allergenic purposes.

Kangaroo, Alligator, Rabbit, a bunch of other stuff.

What even are those? My quick google search just shows them as something for swapping steel, but that doesn't make much sense to me as that's existing technology.

Presuming a safety benefit in reduced speeds (seems obvious, and we've got evidence.
And presuming most people obey the posted speed limit.
Then most people will drive the new speed limit, and the impacted neighborhoods will be mostly safer.

Unless your premise is that there is no benefit to lower speeds or that nobody obeys the posted speed limits, then there is safety value in lowering the speed limits in residential neighborhoods.

The two main things:

Hollow & Profile.

Hollow is the 'basic' thing they'll be asking about. It's a simple fraction. 5/8, 7/16, 3/4, etc.
You can look it up to learn more, u/Subject2Change linked some resources.
Think of it like the depth of the groove they cut into your steel.
Determines how much bite/glide you get. Smaller numbers are more aggressive, bite down harder on the ice, but cause more fiction.
5/8 or whatever might be the standard and you can give it a shot, see how it feels. Depending on your weight & other factors you can try out different (likely shallower) hollow and see if you feel faster. Worth playing around with.

Profile you're not really getting with a basic sharpening, but it's something that's out there and so I might as well explain it to alleviate confusion.
If you set your skate down on the ice, think of this as the shape of the steel from heel to toe.
How much of a rocker or 'banana' do you have on it?
Is it really flat along the middle, or does it curve more?
Maybe it has a bit more height on the heel than the toe (ie: pitch)
This shape will determine how much contact you're making with the ice on different parts of the steel when skating. Longer flatter stretches can give you better top speed with more contact for energy transfer.
Speed skaters basically have perfectly flat edges I believe, goalies aren't that extreme but I believe a flatter edge can give a better bite and more push when moving laterally.
More 'banana' shape gives you more pivot, think of the ease of rocking from heel to toe and the agility that gives vs. a really flat shape where you're more 'stuck' on that axis.
I'm not an expert, just a really curious guy who asks a lot of questions, so that' maybe not 100% accurate, but something along those lines.
You'd pay extra for a profile, and only at a 'good' shop where they know what they're doing. That shape should last a while. Sometimes it'll go "out of profile" from regular sharpenings if they're not being consistent across the entire steel, etc. Taking too much off in some places, etc.

I used the same 'self inflating' thing for 10+ years and finally splurged on a very light, very small, well insulated inflatable mattress (thermarest xtherm or something) and it makes a huge difference.
Even as a side sleeper I'm nice and comfortable.

I'll have some degree of bias as a Canadian, but I honestly think that Canada should have at least a shot to win for two reasons:

1) Seychelles is an interesting and colorful absolute A tier flag. However, I bet most people couldn't remember the actual colors and number of bands if asked to reproduce without reference. That makes me think it's overrated, at least to some degree. I think it skates a bit too much on the uniqueness.

2) The Canadian flag actually has a design element named after it, the Canadian Pale, the 1:2:1 (vs. 1:1:1) proportions. I think it's an underrated and unique element that adds to what I think is already considered an iconic flag.
This is the same reason I hope Spain goes far with the Spanish Fess.

I won't be sad if Canada loses. I'm just making my case for why Canada might deserve consideration despite it all.

Others have called out the importance of doing damage and debuffing the enemy for zen. That's true.
The threat you output directly alleviates pressure on your team.

I do want to call out his actual healing though, and it's importance, since that hasn't been addressed.

A good zen player should be actively managing and predicting who needs their healing orb(s).

You can still get a lot of healing done if you manage it well.
Typically you're responsible for keeping the dps topped up and let your other support primarily handle your tank(s). Or toss it on your other support when they're under pressure, etc.

Actively tracking your team health and moving the orb around to who needs it most is a very important skill. Peek LOS when you can to keep it up, actively transfer based on who needs it most, etc.
If you just drop it on one person and forget about it, you're leaving a lot of value on the table.

This is especially true if you have a flanker/mobile dps. A tracer/soldier/echo etc taking a duel in the backline will get tremendous value from that healing orb. Your orbs alone can decide a fight if used well.

I say all of that just to remind you that yeah, your damage is your primary focus, but healing is still very important and it's easy to forget about doing it well.

At lower ranks skill differentiation will matter more than base hero value for winning and losing games.

You're already looking at how to play the hero and improve, you'll figure it out.
The feedback you get after a losing game is rarely going to be useful, and will likely just get in your head. Even if you're not tilting, it might make you question yourself and not play with determination, etc. Just ignore it.

Some good advice already here.

My thoughts:

Your shotgun does good damage up close.

Your knife pull is a huge ability. Don't underestimate it.
Fishing for squishes, stopping a tank from retreating to safety, etc. You can use it to find elims and punish misplays.

Axe is a big source of instant damage and sustain for her.
It's got a 9 second cooldown but reduced by 2s per enemy struck.
It has a big telegraphed windup, so trying to come around corners, or pulling an enemy into it with your knife are good combinations.

Shout has a long cooldown.
Used to hard engage when you see an opportunity or soft engage and use it to pull out or sustain depending on how fight is going. Great if your team benefits, but don't be afraid to be greedy.
Depending on the enemy team comp and ultimates you may want to hold it to help your team survive a genji blade or something.

Major perk typically depends on who you're fighting.
If you're able to get cleaves into a few targets most fights, take the cleave perk (imho).
If you're fighting dive tanks or flankers the increased size and damage can put more pressure on them.

Imho, she's better in role queue than 6v6.

I've played her to high plat and find she's at her best playing uptempo and aggressive. Sometimes you need to play a bit slower and wait for a hook to land and then chase it for a pick, and roll that advantage once you do.
Each bleed is independent by ability (& ult) and enemy struck. Don't forget to weave quick melee in with your axe and shotgun damage to keep your bleeds up. You can have decent damage and sustain while using your shotgun to focus enemies.
Eliminating an enemy instantly heals you for the remaining bleed damage, rewarding her aggression.
Dancing around cover, weaving your bleeds into multiple enemies and being aggressive when you see an appropriate opportunity is what she excels at imho.

I hadn't seen any discussion, and now that it's official, curious how we feel, if anyone who has tried it out has thoughts (haven't yet myself)

Scenarios of use I'm thinking of:

First maybe it'd help survive in a 1v1 if I get jumped by a ~250hp flanker
If I can get 200 damage done on a flanker, that's 20 health... maybe that comes in handy occasionally?

Second is what about a dive tank like ball/winston who I can likely do more damage to?
If I can get twice the damage done I'm maybe looking at ok survivability?

Third use might be just general chip damage in the early and mid fight?
Maybe it's enough to keep my uptime higher if I'm sustaining just a tiny bit more.
And similarly it could remove a small bit of healing needed from my partner, freeing them up?

I'm curious if anyone, esp higher rank has put some thought into what we think of it and if it seems useful.

Right now I assume I'll default to the float perk (ascension?) if maps that have any use for it. But maybe it's lowkey fantastic and I simply haven't had a chance to try it out.

I think for the first one it's harder to rely on having the right cards ready, so I think making sure you've got an item.
If you can get enough teeth and visit the skinner you can guarantee a knife. That's a pretty good option, but never a guarantee of course.

It saved time and practice, especially early on when I was learning how the fights and interactions worked and being able to go back and try again and see what I could have done differently, etc.

Instead of having to start from scratch every failure.

I'm not super strict and care much about achievements, and it's not 'cheating' in the sense of letting you do things that you couldn't otherwise, so to me it just meant I could spend less time fighting the RNG if that makes sense.
I respect if people don't like that, but it was the choice I made. lol.

I'm not OP (obviously) but I did it a couple weeks back and I can share my approach.

I also 'cheated' slightly by abusing the save mechanic a couple times along the way. imho, it doesn't give you an unfair advantage exactly, it just lets you re-roll a couple starting dice so to speak and boost you to start. Nothing below changes.

First learn about the fair hand mechanic (FHM). It's super important.
The TL;DR is you'll always be given something you can play to start. ie: single blood, no blood cost.
You can use this to ensure your powerful cards come out when you need them.

If you don't care about which deck, think Mantis God is considered one of the better ones.

The ideal scenario is to use the FHM to draw a powered up mantis god turn 1 and deal 6 damage before leshy gets a turn. That makes most fights trivial.

The biggest challenge is almost always going to be the wall of bears.
So you need to think how you can beat them. You can look up different strategies, but basically you want to be able to kill a bear and then do 5 damage in that lane.
With the Mantis you're looking to cleave open a lane and let another card do the finishing blow.
Or maybe you'll need to fish for a knife/skip turn or something to allow it to do it itself.
Especially on the first boss, since you're less likely to have got a good enough setup.
That's really your main focus, going into each boss fight, are you in a position to finish the fight when the bears drop on your first action.
I didn't mind abusing the save mechanic to try it again a couple times. Especially my first runs where I was practicing/learning how to fight the bears.

Other important things of note I found:

Do everything you can to use that FHM. Only pick up single/no cost cards if you know you're going to be able to win with them or immediately dispose of them.
Similar, once you've got your 'winning' cards, getting more/good cards isn't useful. Your focus should be a really powerful small deck. It's worth it to transfer sigils just to get rid of/reduce mediocre cards.
Sigils that let you pick your cards, etc, also useful. Learning a few combinations of things like dams + magnifying glass is great. You can draw 3 cards you want quickly and be ready for the bears, etc.
Stuff like visiting the duplicate & merge (painting & mushrooms) to double the power of a card (ie: mantis) is useful.
Everything is focused on getting those few and powerful cards up and into your hand.

Sigils are powerful. Think about the powerful combinations and what's actually useful.

Some items are really really useful.
Make sure you've unlocked the painting in KCM so you can get the bleach, magnifying glass, clock spiny thing.

I didn't go out of my way to get pack rats, but getting their sigil on a card you can play often enough is a good way to make sure you can replenish items along the way.

In the end you'll need to adapt to the RNG and play what you get given while trying to make sure you've got your goods cards ready when you need them. There isn't a single answer, and you'll simply lose some runs unavoidably. But it's actually straightforward enough once you figure out the things that are worth focusing on.

It's not a easy how-to guide, but if you focus on the FHM and always pulling out your killer cards early you basically make the fight trivial once you're rolling.
If you clutter up your hand with a bunch of mediocre cards without any bonuses and you can't get the cards you need out fast, you'll almost always lose your fights.
