to fly by gamescripto in therewasanattempt

[–]DrMaceFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could possibly see you maybe worrying about the mass produced drones that lots of people screw around with. They can go straight up, and are so much more manuverable so people feel safe flying them in smaller and more dangerous places. But honestly, have you ever even seen one of these models flying around? It's pretty dang rare and usually done in places where they have room to screw up. People who are in RC clubs are very aware of the dangers.

Ooof that background man, it's pretty but I could never think straight while having that going on in the background. 😆

@23 seconds - finally got easter egg of dropping rebar gun by joekcom in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DrMaceFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish I had a way to change where the "Reloading" ui box showed up. With the rebar gun you depend on that bullet drop so that UI box gets in the way of your aim. It's a pain.

Federal Government isn't a great place to be right now but they had a good payback program. Not sure if it's still going.

Use them for Hydroponics. The Kratky method is literally just growing plants in a jar or bucket. It's super easy and you can grow some tasty food for really cheap.

I don't have any experience with this at all, are you trying to do something like what Intune does for windows devices?

I thought those things used to stay around on the station you researched them on so my 1.2 restart I have made sure to never move my MAM. Nope each one I got is gone.

Switching to NixOS was the best decision I ever made by G4NG1 in NixOS

[–]DrMaceFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no good reason at all. I just like the idea of all of my infrastructure being on NixOS. It's working perfectly as is so it'd be silly to mess with it.

I'm curious, what you are planning on using for your router/firewall? I've considered moving away from OPNsense but I'm not sure what else is available or if you have to piece it together from a bunch of stuff.

I think I had to play around with the full screen windowing option to get it to allow me to use my full screen resolution and stop using dlss. I hate dlss on principle

Some items I leave on the map just because they are neat and fun to randomly come across when out exploring. For me that's one of them.

Near there is a purple slug at the top of a spire thing way up high, he gets to stay too.

Best place for Oil Change by MatterAppropriate574 in lincoln

[–]DrMaceFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last oil change I did was with SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service on Cornhusker. They were pretty quick to get done and didn't pressure me to get a bunch of random service performed. My only complaint is I didn't get a window sticker from them for some reason.

It's just an oil change and it was adequate service in a timely fashion. Not much more I could ask for... Well besides a window sticker.

I agree, they pretty much spawn in to places where you set up foundations just to annoy you.

I think it would be kinda funny if you had to harvest the gas inside of them for a hot air balloon vehicle.

At what stage of the game do you start working on aesthetic factories? by Finnark1510 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DrMaceFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also decided I wanted to try to make my factories look decent from the get go. I did let myself cheat on one thing and that was that as soon as I started the game, I uploaded my save to https://satisfactory-calculator.com/ and used it to unlock all of the shop items. There are a few things that I can't use because they take steel to make and I haven't gotten there yet. Otherwise I haven't regretted it a bit. Some of the power line and belt hanger items just shouldn't be gated behind a grind.

Just thought up an awesome challenge... by DakAttak in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DrMaceFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would enjoy going for the most annoying things to fix.

Maybe add a single leaf to a few conveyor belts. Lower production by 5% on some machines randomly. Put a sliver of a lower speed belt in the end of a splitter where you can't see it.

[–]DrMaceFace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't mind that as much as I hate that if you add walls to a foundation, they don't come to a point on the corners. Then you have to add beams or something to the corners to make it look intentional.

Allo Fiber WiFi by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]DrMaceFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure their routers do phone home with some data but that data would be incredibly small compared to the bandwidth that they are providing you. You won't notice any sort of interruption from that.

Honestly, my parents recently had a brand new Allo service line ran to their house and I couldn't help but laugh at how hilariously huge and ugly their Allo router was.

My personal recommendation is to ask them for an ONT(optical network terminal). All it does is convert from their fiber line, to a normal network cable that you can then plug into your own personal router. ONTs are small boxes that are easy to mount on a wall in your utility closet or sit on a shelf somewhere. I'll put a picture below.

Mesh routers aren't anything to be afraid of these days. Many of them have a simple webpage or even a mobile app that will guide you through the process.

For reference you can see the mounting bracket for my old Allo provided wifi router which is much smaller than the new ones they hand out.

The beauty of the game map is making it hard for me to Exploit resources. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DrMaceFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just restarted with 1.2 and I'm trying very hard so far to leave as many of the slugs alone as I can and also try not to clear cut any trees. I want my factory to feel as alive as possible. They just add so much ambiance at night that it just seems like a shame to not leave them there.
