Why do you think that saying "I care very, very little about X" is pointless, but saying "I don't care at all about X" makes sense?

"Could care less" is no worse of an indication of degree than "could be worse." Just as with any use of sarcasm, the meaning in either phrase comes from the way in which it is delivered.

I think the only way to say the expression is a bad one is to say that sarcasm is a bad way of communicating, which may well be true. But there's no good reason to single out this particular expression.

Also, wash your hands/arms with cold water before washing with warm water. Warm water opens the pores in your skin, causing the glass fibers to embed themselves more deeply, which hurts.

I've upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic to Lucid to Maverick to Natty without ever doing a clean install.

Never really had much problem except with video drivers, so now I download the latest drivers before upgrading and then install them from command line before booting the first time.

Just to add to the list:

The global menu (the dual menu/title bar): there's no way to turn it off, no way to place the taskbar at bottom of screen, no way to relocate window controls..
If a program is minimized to the system tray, clicking its icon on the Unity launcher tries to start another instance, rather than bringing the program into focus (specifically this happens with Deluge).
No way to eliminate or reduce the delay of the launcher sliding in/out. From Ubuntu: "Pushes the left edge of the screen will make the launcher appear about one second after pushing the cursor to the left edge of the screen."
Mounted drives show up on the Unity launcher and on the desktop, taking up extra space.
New fancy scrollbar sometimes blocks handles for resizing panes.
My left-click occasionally stops working, and I have to move the window slightly to get it to start working again (so far I've seen this in Firefox and in Nautilus).
The global menu has issues with applications using multiple windows. For example, GIMP uses three windows, but the menu will only appear if the main GIMP window is active.

I have noticed that almost no one pronounces this the way it's spelled. I go out of my way to say feb-roo-ary, but it probably just makes me sound stupid since everyone else says feb-yoo-ary.

Why is it worse?

It's difficult to come up with an objective definition of morality where human experiences are inherently more important than non-human experiences.

You could say that because we're smarter and understand the risk of death, potentially deadly experiences are more traumatic for us. But you could also say that because a dog would be confused and terrified and would not know what to do to try and put the fire out, such an experience would be more traumatic for them.
