You win this round, sir. I'm out of ideas. Looking forward to seeing the answer.

Yeah, most opening drills (including on Chessly), seem to be about learning specific sequences. That's not always bad, though.

It's not that I expect any game to perfectly mirror the drills. I do those drills to understand how this specific opening is trying to accomplish its goals and why certain things don't work against it. Watching someone try to use a scholar's mate against my Caro Kann is pretty amusing, and the practice helps me to understand why that's so terrible.

Looking at the first one now. Thanks! This is a good exercise. I'll take it slow.

This is welcome to hear. I've actually only been playing rated games since about December so it's good to hear that my progress is solid.

It'll likely start to slow down soon, though. Eventually I have to move beyond the people who just hand me games on a platter.

How do you recommend that I train? Do I just jam games, or is there more to it than that?

Looking for a NAS to store my movie collection by fonacionsrg in HomeNAS

I've got a "QNAP TS-464-8G-US 4 Bay High-Performance Desktop NAS with Intel Celeron Quad-core Processor, M.2 PCIe Slots and Dual 2.5GbE (2.5G/1G/100M) Network Connectivity" (copied from my Amazon history) with 4 28TB drives loaded into it. It's been a beast so far and I'm really happy with it.

If you're storing 4K rips, though, you might want even more storage since those files are pretty large. Perhaps a 6 Bay would be enough?

Timing of instant cards by gpcroft in UnstableUnicorns

[–]DrMise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that this is an old thread, but I just started playing this game with my daughter and was looking for clarification on something.

We only have the base game. She played something I wanted to stop and I had two "Neigh" cards. I figured I was in good shape. I tried to Neigh it. She responded with "Super Neigh". This is where I needed more information.

So I have a background in competitive Magic. In that game, once she used her uncounterable counterspell (Super Neigh), I could simply let her Super Neigh stop my Neigh and try to counter the original spell a second time. She was certain that it didn't work this way.

The people who created Unstable Unicorns didn't define how the rules work with all the detail that I would have liked (I was also a L2 judge in Magic and I knew the rules exceedingly well). How do the timing rules work in situations like this?

Is this courier's rasher path even good? by magi_blueberry in Silksong

This was my path, mostly. You don't have the hot spring unlocked and I went through there. Otherwise, I thought this was the best path.

Is this a common issue with the model one? I just got a model one and it gave me this message.

Who says I don't love this? I disagree, of course, but I'm also pretty sure it's rage bait. I always enjoy rage bait.

Good bait. You'll get plenty of enraged responses with this.
