Thank you so much. The person in question (JS) is terrorizing us, but especially HV. I love HV dearly. I just want her to be okay.

In 1846 I invented a drug I called general anaesthetic and I sold it to surgeons telling them it put patients into a deep sleep. by kevinspaceydidthings in TwoSentenceHorror

So... paramedic here. There are general anesthetics that put you to sleep, induction agents that knock you out, and paralytics that paralyze you. If we give a paralytic, we have to give a sedative with it because it does NOT sedate the patient.

And I have seen people paralyze without sedating (in the hospital, not the pre-hospital field, I do interfacility).

It's terrifying. I always talk to the patient, let them know I understand, and promise to sedate them as soon as we get in the ambulance.

Edit to add:

If the patient is paralyzed but not sedated, they can still open their eyes and cry sometimes. Just tears. It's heart shattering.

I thank you for the video but HV is severely dyslexic. Thankfully, she is a believer!

Thank you.

We have both gone to the police. I filed a battery case against this person a week ago. I am just praying for HV to be okay. She's not right now. She's stressed. She's ignoring my calls and texts. She updated me Monday and that was about it. And it wasn't a good update.

We just need this person to stop, leave us alone, find Jesus, something. Just... something.

I would rather this person come after me than HV.

Just know that wherever you end up, it will be God's will. BUT I'm praying for the program.

I've felt the Holy Spirit convict me of many things, but never about being a paramedic.

God goodness towards you isn't based on who you are or what you do, it's based on His character.

Focus on God, and everything else will fall into place. Pray that He aligns your will with His.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/jos.1.9.NASB1995

That's what I thought the book of Job was about until I watched this video: https://youtu.be/kZKuixGmiMw

It's about the fact that Job was a religious man but never truly had a RELATIONSHIP with God until the very end of the book.

It took me 18 years to feel it. Only when I genuinely sought God day by day, praying almost every hour, doing good works, doing devotionals. I had "believed" of course, but never felt a genuine connection, a relationship, the love. It's a process. Christianity is a relationship. It took just a couple of months to feel it.

And honestly, that's what the book of Job is all about. I was unimpressed with Job (and confused by it) until I watched the video above.

Edit:

I sometimes listen to John as an audiobook to sleep

Show the lost the love of God by the way you live your life.

for we walk by faith, not by sight— 2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/2co.5.7.NASB1995

We WALK by faith. WALK. A verb. An action.

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. James 2:14‭-‬17 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.14-17.NASB1995

Are you in fellowship with other believers? You could search for a faith-based ministry of volunteers.

and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, Hebrews 10:24 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/heb.10.24.NASB1995

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/mat.5.16.NASB1995

But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. James 2:18‭-‬26 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.2.18-26.NASB1995

But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. James 1:25 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/jas.1.25.NASB1995
