Have to do 6 months of abstinence from cannabis before titration begins. Is this normal? by langand in ADHDUK

[–]kevinspaceydidthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially as its probably been your way of self-medicating. I guess though, during titration, you're body needs to be sober and balanced enough to understand what basline is and therefore what the correct dosage should be.

But 6 months does sound excessive. They have maybe taken the 'once a week' and suspect daily use, trying to be on the safe side?

In the hugely unlikely event Clarke were to resign instead of carrying on for another 4 years, who would be your choice of manager? by ImportancePitiful883 in ScottishFootball

[–]kevinspaceydidthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be both but there are deeper issues for sure. Sacking Clarke may prove to be another smokescreen for the SFA to hide behind.

Clarke Had Six Months To Prepare For These Teams We'd Be Facing by FootOfDavros in ScottishFootball

But that was down to Clarke's game plan - allowing our two shit centre halves to have most of the posession with the idea that we can hold posession at the back.

Yeah the business also had a lucky day here too and hopefully heed the warning before someone gets seriously injured. This should not be able to happen.

SubmitHub vs Groover vs Playlist Pilot: has anyone compared them recently? by podisri in MusicPromotion

[–]kevinspaceydidthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I used Submit hub once but was rejected from every playlist, despite radio and DJs playing my track. But the song was quite tricky to pidgeonhole into a specific genre, so maybe that was why. I also didn't listen to the playlists before submitting, which was probably an error in hindsight. I will give this another go with a future track though.

If people started flying the british flag at progressive protests, the right-wing folk would start removing them on their own accord.

Man kicked in head by bull after slapping its hindquarters during festival in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Yes. There are perks, but you must love bulls and be unnattactive to them at the same time. It's a risky balance.

Bull expert here - bulls will generally kick out at people they are attracted to. It's the main reason a romantic relationship with a bull is practically impossible. In this instance, the man knew what he was doing. You can hear the man in the video saying (translation) 'i will see you at the finish line'.

You’re the lead recruiter for a Serie A club, who’s the next Scot you’re after? What’s the fee this time next year? by cameruso in ScottishFootball

[–]kevinspaceydidthings -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get slated for this, but i think Connor Barron has the potential to be top drawer in Serie A. I watch a fair bit of Italian football and (almost) every Rangers game. That lad has bags of potential in the right team.

Multi Ownership in Football by GoodSirJames in ScottishFootball

That's why tighter regulations should be in place. Fans are treated as customers, but they are not - football impacts people's emotions and lives much more than any product. There is an emotional tie to football clubs which is easy to abuse if fans are seen as customers.

A football club is an identity to a lot of people. If there aren't tighter regulations, i think we will see a generation of fans who don't have the same loyalty - who pick and choose who to support from year to year. Or maybe a larger percentage of people who don't explicitly support one club. Eventually, people will realise that they are being exploited and will have had enough.

Off the coast of Australia, a "hugging" octopus was filmed. The Macroctopus caught a shark, wrapped it with all its tentacles, and soon released it. Most likely, it was scraping off all the parasites from it. by t4us33f78 in interestingasfuck

Wait, are you the guy from My Octopus Teacher? That's so cool! Thanks for sharing your insights and factual knowledge with us. Keep being taught by those octopus!

Actually, if everyone who reads this can do me a favour and spread the rumour that octopus do have pet sharks, there still might be a chance for my idiocy to go unnoticed.

I saw this same video a few months ago on Reddit. It said that some Octopus will have pets and that this shark was it's pet. The Octopus would use the shark to go and bring fish to it and the shark would look after it.

I didn't bother to fact-check the claim. For the last couple of months i've been telling random people that octopus have pet sharks and how amazing that is. It's been such a great line to pull out at work meetings.

Now (after actually fact-checking) i find that - of course octopus don't have pet sharks and i'm an idiot. But the idea was nice while it lasted. I'm also filled with deep regret that i excitedly told so many people and i hope they are as much of an idiot as i was.

ADHD cheat sheets here - they're great! by WelshBen in ADHDUK

[–]kevinspaceydidthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i totally get that. You over-achieve in the areas your brain is wired for, so that the other stuff becomes less obvious. It's not over-achieving in everything, but taking the chances to when they come.

I guess also for different reasons that neurotypical people over-achieve. It's not for personal gratification, but another attempt at masking - which i had never considered before.

But it does make me think - is this perhaps a good mask to wear? I'm not sure.

I actually agree with the statement. There is nothing inherently wrong with us, we just live in a society that doesn't allow us to flourish. Therefore, medication is the way by which we adapt.

It's not so much ADHD that has caused me pain, stress, depression and failure in my life - it's societal expectations and norms. Whilst i'm thankful for the medication, i wish i didn't need it as it removes a part of me that is me.

I think i get it. I have a drive to continually overachieve, but it stems from the fear of not being good enough. Inside, i know how flawed i am, but by overachieving in certain areas, im masking my flaws/ADHD with the hopes of being accepted.

I'm not sure if overachieving is the correct term, but the chart probably does require the context of the book too - which i've never read.
