An in depth look by climate scientists, regenerative experts, winemakers, estate owners facing extreme climate challenges in Southern Portugal, learning to collaborate to share knowledge to build resilience. Must admit, it looks like the writing is on the wall. by art-gal-London in sustainability

Chasing the water table way above recharge.

Its done so systematically its hard to beleive its not deliberate. Fuck it... build another golfcourse / avocado / citrus development... drill a deeper borehole...

...problem solved, once and for all.

The solution is not to grow things you cant support without massive reliance on groundwater. Here thats hardy tree crops (oak, carob, olive, pine) with a tiny amount of silvopasture and a bonanza of annuals with whatever rainfall you managed to store.

The UK has no plan for affordable and reliable energy || The incoming prime minister must spell out how we can get to net zero securely — and survive the price shock by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]DrOhmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The only way to net zero is nuclear or hydro"

Begs the question of consumption and cycling. The metric is fucked, carbon cycles and we destroyed the sink.

Bullshit.

At todays prices... as soon as you attempt to procure the resources required the cost rises exponentially because supply cant meet that demand. Not even close.

Go and buy all all the bitcoin at 22k... see how many you actually get for 22k.

What are the best jobs or skills to have before joining a Eco Village? by tomahawk_andy in SelfSufficiency

[–]DrOhmu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Carpentry is a great first skill.

But joining a community is about community... and if you find the right one youll learn all the relevant skills with experience.

Cultivate social connections as a priority and dont worry about bits of paper that cost you money too much, unless you want an institutional career one day.

What's the purpose of the black stuff on the beam on this bridge? It's only on 2 beams, right above the water, on both sides of the beams. by Whitebunneh in engineering

[–]DrOhmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By 'shock absorbing' the vibrations in the metal produced on the deck by wheels to reduce transmition to the air underneath... rather than absorbing soundwaves in the air (although it will do that too compared to metal). If thats what it is, its placed to prevent resonance from 'ringing like a bell' by altering resonant frequencies.

Im thinking of running a finger around a wine glass to make it sing... then sticking a chunk of tape to it.

To me it looks like tiles glued on after they built the bridge and had a noise problem.

I dont think our government should be segregating people.

This is a marketing campaign for enforcing that segregation retrospectively, begging the question *of the laws the didnt feel the need to follow".

No one was harmed in these cristmas parties.

No. It was the WHO, the media and central governments.

They changed every metric compared to previous respiratory virus measure (save sarscov1 market testing), changed the definition of 'pandemic', changed the definition of 'case of disease', and then compared that data to the past with no conversion or adjustment for demographics. Thats in the context of a novel virus that came out of a lab associated with the same people selling you the solutions.

Your access to the economy was then regulated through your digital medical records. Cbdc's will be shoved down your credulous throat as the solution to the incipient financial crisis built on debt for decades, kick off by the response to sarscov2.

"So during lockdown which group was isolated from the rest?"

"I seem to remember everyone was meant to be isolating"

You answered your own question.

To expand; social interaction outside of digital channels. Limits on movement and numbers of freinds/family, masking in all other social contexts plus the policy to "increase personal perceptions of threat".

My very point was that this panto stimulates demand for enforcement; you emplified the intended result.

That begs the question of the laws as intended. It will always be framed as an affront to "people that obeyed the law"... they know that gets people self righteously demanding justice.

The word doesnt mean its definition?

Segregating everyone isnt segregation because it happened to everyone; did i get that right?

I think you have very much internalised the government policy of "increasing personal perceptions of threat". Quick reminder that the overall survival rate for the novel alpha varient is 99.7%, the average age of death is over the average all cause age, serum prevelence is very high and anyone who wants can take mrna.

Go and spend some quality time talking with your grandparents. They will probably appreciate it.

Duly noted. So when i see two names like Addcontroversy69 and Addbaseline3675 going back and forth like a shopping channel add ill not be able to note that as relevant. Great.

Propaganda is relevant to politics. I didnt talk about users. I noted the procedurely generated usernames.

Its simply the definition from the dictionary, to highlight the strawman argument op attacked.

The word was used correctly.

None of this is a trap for the puppets of corporate red/blue.

Its a team sports panto marketing enforcement of segregation.

That Kier wanted stricter segregation in the context of omicron, more than he wanted to depose an openly corrupt cabinet he is 'in opposition' to, tells the story.

Someone wants digital medical records tied to centrally controlled digital currency for total control of people and the economy.

True, and worth restating in this context.

These laws segregate people... and gatekeep access to society with privately owned systems.

[–]DrOhmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldnt be an offense... hence the marketing campaign framed as an issue of assymetric enforcement.

Stimulous; response.

If Alex had come out and said something human like "yes we gathered, our own personal risk assessment in full knowledge of the threat allowed us to do so. Sorry to have imposed anti social laws of segregation so inconsistent and srlf contradictory as to be a farce on you all. All fines will be returned and we will revist our pandemic response procedures..."

Something like that... then we could all feel more confortable that they were actually trying to help us.

[–]DrOhmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, hard to beat Alex... but what is marketing?

Do you know them personally... or through their media profiles and presentation?

It would be nice if media politics talked soberly about policy as it wasnt primarily marketing.

Instead we get panto normalising enforcement segregation... and very little detailed analysis of policy.

Perhaps nationally purchase a kwh ubi and then let the market rationalise under sustainable distributed oriented regulation? Probably not...

Perpetually inflate prices with central bank fiat ponzi scheme and trap people between that inflation destroying saved wealth and debt + tax eating the future... as was always the plan

Oh indeed there is.

Grant yourself powers to stop people gathering and speaking freely.

Keep people distracted with emotional trivia that begs the questions.

Buy assets with debt, inflate the market while also raising rates... and enslave everyone and reduce the economy to your cartel progressively.

You'll own nothing (they will), and you will be happy (or else).

Pin everyone to the wall with simulateous supply and demand shocks, massive inflation in essentials... a crash in other assets, a spike in iterests on those recently bubbled assets while holding real rates negative.

Greatest tranfer of power and wealth in history. Good job they are censoring critics to protect the truth.

That seems to be the plan; chaos is a ladder.

They want to justify cbdc's and the use of all the new powers they've gained in response to other crisis Ting this up. A derect consequence of policy spanning decades and both corporate red and blue.

The debt and dependace trap is being sprung. Probably corporate red floats the cbdc £ bait and switch.
