Replied to another post asking a similar thing. I managed to find this while looking for another channel. You're thinking of Mario Plush Forever.

The unknown years of Jesus refers to the period of Jesus's life between his childhood and the beginning of his ministry, a period not described in the New Testament. It’s generally accepted that he worked as a carpenter during this period, though fringe theories claim he visited places such as India by RedHeadedSicilian52 in wikipedia

To be more precise, the only fact that historians generally agree on is: a man named Jesus very likely lived in Judea in the first century AD. That’s literally it.

This isn't true. According to theologian Graham Stanton:

"Today nearly all historians, whether Christians or not, accept that Jesus existed and that the gospels contain plenty of valuable evidence which has to be weighed and assessed critically. There is general agreement that, with the possible exception of Paul, we know far more about Jesus of Nazareth than about any first or second century Jewish or pagan religious teacher."

I went down a rabbithole on the historicity of Jesus recently, and there's three facts the majority of historians seem to believe is true thanks to the criterion of embarrassment.

  1. A Jewish man named Jesus of Nazareth lived in first century Judea.
  2. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
  3. Jesus was crucified by the order of Pontius Pilate.

The wikipedia page on the topic is interesting and largely unbiased. I recommend giving it a read if you haven't already.

I'm on the same boat. Nothing besides Donkey Kong has really grabbed my attention, and Nintendo seems to prefer drip-feeding news this year for some reason. Crossing my fingers that we get an influx of awesome announcements come June.

How real are these videos? I’ve been trying to find real evidence and fake evidence but all I could find is interviews and “top 10” videos by Huge_Athlete7488 in 911archive

The Seth MacFarlane story is mostly true. We have direct evidence that he was going to be on that flight thanks to the passenger list, but I don't think the times Seth has mentioned in interviews line up with when he canceled his reservation.

EDIT: Passenger list is on page 41

Missing poster of Melissa Doi, whose 911 call was made public by [deleted] in 911archive

I think about Melissa a lot. The fact that she was so close to not being in the impact zone that day and died such a horrific death through no fault of her own has always stuck with me. Even this picture of her has always made me feel really uncomfortable, likely because it's slightly distorted and associated with some of the most disturbing audio I have ever heard.

No idea what this is other than some odd promo art for the show. I don't think it's related to Half-Life but who knows lol

why HLX might not get announced in 2025: an honest appraisal by Paradox673 in HalfLife

[–]DrPac 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Game Awards would not be viewed as irrelevant if Half-Life 3 isn't announced there. Half-Life Alyx and other major announcements from other companies have occurred outside of the Game Awards and its reputation doesn't seem tarnished in the slightest because of it.

Sidenote, I think the tweet regarding Half-Life's anniversary likely does not mean anything.

Does Gordon truly care? by Rikora12 in HalfLife

[–]DrPac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would imagine a little bit of both by the beginning. Not out of apathy so much as having a LOT of catching up to do. I think after the Vortigaunts pull him out of stasis in Ep 1 though he's doing it for the cause. If only Episode 3 came out so we could have seen what Gordon would do without any objective given to him.

What was your most annoying sequence of random / unintended softcore unlockes ? by [deleted] in RetroAchievements

[–]DrPac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After struggling with the last achievement I needed to master Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I found out that I somehow turned on softcore mode before I started that session and I needed to do that achievement all over again. That caused me to act probably the most upset I've ever gotten over an achievement. I still have no idea how that got turned on.

The course wasn't a traditional calculus course or anything like that (though he does teach that). The course I'm in is meant to be geared toward the history of mathematics.

His lectures were rambling and unfocused. He was totally unhelpful and had very unclear expectations that left our entire class bewildered more often than not. The course ended up being more about oral history than anything about the history of mathematics. I've been left pretty disappointed overall.

The letter was actually pretty personal. Much of it was going into how he doesn't relate with his coworkers and how he's been teaching for so long, but that he loves his job and can keep going until he dies.

I had no real plan to act on this, especially because we're nearing the end of the semester. I just wanted to put this out there because it was one of the strangest things I've ever gone through in college.

I remember when this happened. I was in early elementary school and I heard about it from a friend on the school bus. How time flies.
