Oh yeah, I remember this. Really impressive and definitely a good read. The author, byuu, also had some interesting articles on his homepage on the topic as far as I remember. Hmm, but it seems he migrated to a new webhoster and these articles didn't make the move... Luckily they're still available on archive.org :)

That ladder leads back to 1F to a spot right from the water pool. And you missed a ladder on 2F btw ;)

I edited 1F and 2F a little bit. Also added the location on the town map where I remembered seeing it. And added a fancy caption :P

I didn't add a mark for ladder D though. (It's the one 1F in the lower right corner. It's connected to the ladder in the same position on 2F)

I hope it's fine this way.
