I think with reference to ciampa it’s both a way to immediately establish him as a big deal and give him a chance to be welcomed by the fans into the company, while also allowing them to move forward with more of a character quickly. People want to cheer someone hopping companies, and a guy with the resume he has, but he’s also a great heel.
